I will say, it is funny as fuck watching Leaf come from our goalie line and meeting some MFer at our blue line who isn't aware he is down there, and he gets knocked the fuck out. It's charging, but still great to see.
The backhand does work a lot, but honestly, and this is that same old thing, you shouldn't be giving them the chance to do it. I can't remember the last backhander someone scored on us.
I think the major issue they have this year is, they made it to easy for everyone to knock everyone the fuck out. As Lant said, there is a highlight reel hit every 30 seconds, because all you need to do is put 99 in checking and strength and have fun. Right now I have 87 hitting and 87 strength, and I lay most people out. I also have 95 shot powers, and 90 acc, 85 passing, 90 puck control, 90 offence awareness, speed, accell, endurance all 90 range. It is way to easy for me to kill people, and I'm a little 5"11', 187lbs guy. Leafs 6"9' 240 tank puts people in a coma.
The goalie AI is terrible, as is the defence. Lucky for us we have 5 guys always on, so we dont run that issue. I really wish they would spend some time on the AI and the goalies. I thought NHL10 should have been the year of the goalie, but they put one guy onto that. Part of the problem is, the goalies online are rated like 68. I really do think they need to raise that up. Make them a solid 80. I get the reason why, because they want people to play net. But a 68 goalie is just insane, and not many people want to spend that much time playing net.
I also wish the AI wasn't some 'on a line' in that, they seem to skate on a line and never move off it. They seem stiff all the time, and don't have much other motion. That would be nice to see changed. Other then that, honestly this is the most fun I have had in awhile with NHL. Playing with friends helps a lot.
Some of you guys who have teams, we should get some games in.
