They need to have someone shadow Ovey. If you look at each of his goals, it was because no one took him, and they let him skate off and be wide open. Hopefully they learned from this for game 3.

The Pens were out numbered in their own zone on the first one. Ovie was on the far side of the play and the Caps swung it around to him where he blasted it past Fluery.

Second was directly off a face off and I believe on the PP. One of the Pens players is actually trying to get to him but falls down, after the goal you can see him throw his hands up in the air and skate towards the ref to complain about a tripping call.

His third was just ridiculous. Gonchar is on him but Ovie just uses him as a screen and snipes the corner.

His shot is just unreal. How can you stop a guy like that from shooting?

By covering him. Even when on the PK, you can still know where people are and be covering them within actually right on top of them. Just to many times they let him go unchecked, and he sneaks in. Like the last goal he scored, sure he has a good shot and Gonchar was on him, but if you saw the play unfold, another player (not sure who) went to get the puck when there was already a guy there, thus leaving Ovey wide open.

They should know Ovey is a weapon and he takes a lot of shots. You shut him down, you have a good chance at winning games. Just as I said, to many times they let Ovey skate around without anyone being in arms reach of him. And a player like that, you need to be on him.

Or they could call up one of the Sharks defencemen and ask them. They have a lot of free time lately.

Malkin basically cost the Penguins game 1. He didn't back check at all on the 2nd and 3rd goal, and would he have taken his many like he is suppose to do, they wouldn't have scored/would have had a harder time scoring.

Ovechkin had 12 shots on goal last game. You cannot stop a player like him from getting shots on net. It is literally impossible. You talk as if it is so easy to do.

Pens v Caps was awesome last night. Malkin was dancing around the Caps like he was Baryshnakov.

If the Pens can keep up the pressure the way they did in the second half of game 3 it should be a hell of a series. Is it just me or does Varlamov look like the vet, and MAF look like the skittish rookie in this series. That first goal given up was ridiculous.

Unlucky break, but yeah, he is still making mistakes of going out of his net way to much. But at least they got the win, and that goal didn't cost them the victory.

The penguins need to get some more secondary scoring going if they want to win this series and go beyond. But it is nice to see Malkin actually doing some offence again. Now if he would just stop dogging it back on the back check.
