I think MTL still makes the playoffs. Basically our GM Bob Gainey is taking over the HC position in order to evaluate the players. If they show more effort, they stay next season. If they don't, they're most likely out of here. Hopefully we can make 2nd round playoffs AT LEAST.

I personally think it's been media overreaction for you guys this season.

Last year you finished first...yep. But you know what? You weren't the best team in the East, you guys over achieved. Nothing wrong with that either.

The fact that you guys have been sitting 5th for the past 2-4 weeks is completely a-ok in my books. Cause really, that's as good as your team really is.

The Habs are certainly not as good as the Bruins/Caps/Devils and maybe the Flyers as well. You are where you should be and outside of the off ice bullshit that some players have went through....you guys are playing right where your talent level is IMO.


Anything can happen in the playoffs of course, but I don't get the big deal over your team's performance this year.

Of course almost everyone knows we are a first round exit team... but in Montréal the expectations are the get to the Stanley Cup finals every year or at least 2 round playoffs minimum or else it is considered a failure. I think we've been spoiled with our 24 cups but we are one of the most successful sports franchise in the world...we don't expect anything less.

As far as finding a new head coach... word on the street is that he MUST be able to express himself in french. If ever an english coach is hired he will have to take french courses in the summer lol I think it's better off that way

mighty? i wouldnt say that, it was a mediocre team with an alltime goalie, a couple stud guys (sakic hejduk put them in, fordberg got assists), no real depth, they rode roy's back to the cup, other than that, crap.

Pre salary-cap era they were always at the top of the standings and had 2 cups to show for it.

Post salary-cap era they turned into the equivalent of the 49ers.

if they can steal a couple games you might be okay.

The Wings need to get their D and goatender situation sorted out if they want to repeat.

It's really not their goaltender situation, it's their D play.

I'm sure you've watched the Wings before, I've been watching them since i was born, and that was 1991, when Osgood's been on the team, the regular season he's always played like this, he lets in stupid goals, he doesn't set up right and gets beat on stupid shots, stuff like that. But when playoff time comes, he's a wall and almost no one can score on him.

Conklin's played great this season for us, and Ozz has been same old Ozz.

Our defensive play is what's really the problem, and i think that the pairings have something to do with it.
Rafalski is about the stupidest defenseman i've ever seen on the Wings, he makes stupid passes, he turns the puck over too much, yeah he's a good offensive defenseman, but it sure should count for him, being as he lets too much crap behind him.
When Stuart was out, Babcock switched up the pairings, and that was the best defensive play i've seen all year, i forget the exact pairings but they should go back to that, one thing that's kinda good is that new kid, Ericsson, he's a bright light in our young guys, along with Stuart.


I agree that they have to do some tweeks to their gameplan if they want to repeat, but with the way they're playing over the past 2 weeks, they're getting in playoff mode and i think they'll get to the finals easy.
