Leonard Williams Commits To USC Trojans Over Florida, Florida State

he was a stretch for the Noles, not really disappointed cause of what we have on the line already but 6'5'' 255

Leonard Williams, one of the top defensive end recruits in the country, has committed to the USC Trojans. Williams plays for Daytona (Fla.) Mainland High School. He holds more than 20 scholarship offers, including Florida, Florida State, Auburn, USC, Miami, Tennessee, Cal and others. Williams is rated a four-star recruit by most services, and is widely regarded as one of the top 10 defensive ends in the country. He is originally from California.

Williams took official visits to Florida, Florida Sate, USC, Auburn and Miami. He wants to play in a 4-3 defensive scheme, and insists that he is not going to be a defensive tackle. The 6'5", 255 pound Williams is just beginning to scratch the surface of his potential. He has the ability to be a shutdown defender against the run, while also rushing and pushing the pocket on passing down. Williams' frame is incredible for a defensive end.

The reveals thus far on National Signing Day have been lackluster. We have seen no puppies as props, no grand hat tricks, and saddest of all, no riding onto stage on the mascot itself. We did have Kwon Alexander, though, who play-faked with an Oregon sweatjacket before unveiling LSU suspenders and a purple and yellow bowtie.

Oregon Jacket Fake: +30 points. Misdirection is a core concept of any well-designed play, something Kwon clearly understands.

Reference to Lebron James: -20 points. He's young, and we'll show him leniency by only docking twenty points here.

Jacket Removal: -10 points. Good concept is nothing without quality execution, however. The delay almost scuttles the play from the start.

Procural Of Hat To Fit Over Baby Afro: +20. Preparation is essential for success. With an easy tug over the head, it's apparent Kwon thought this through and rehearsed. Next level talent with next level study skills and forethought? Blue-chip talent, indeed.

Big pick up for the Coogs. He just visited this past weekend and came because of WR coach, Jamie Christian, being there on campus. Can't wait to see what might flourish the next 4 years through the air (buying season tix for wife's Bday).

Nelson Agholor Commits To USC Over Florida, FSU, Others

Nelson Agholor, one of the top athletes in the country, has committed to the USC Trojans. Agholor stars for Berkley Prep, a tiny school in Tampa. It's unusual to see a prospect this talented stay in the lower classifications of high school football, as most elect to transfer to a higher level of competition. But Agholor liked Berkley prep, received a great education and became a star anyway. He's a true student athlete, and Lane Kiffin is very fortunate to land him.

Agholor claimed offers from over 40 schools, and there is no reason to doubt him.

Jamal Marcus Commits To Ohio State Over East Carolina

Jamal Marcus, a top linebacker recruit, has committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Marcus stars for Durham (N.C.) Hillside High school. He is rated a four-star prospect, and holds over 20 scholarship offers, including Auburn, Clemson, Florida, North Carolina, Notre Dame, South Carolina and USC. Marcus narrowed his choice down to two Ohio State and East Carolina before choosing the Buckeyes.

Marcus is a very athletic prospect. Standing 6'2" and weighing 230 pounds, he already possesses the size needed to play in college. Marcus likes to hit, and doesn't shy away from taking on blockers. Whether he plays immediately, or stars out on special teams, that physicality will be critical at the next level. Marcus needs to learn the intricacies of the linebacker position and gain a better feel for the game, overall, but he is a fine prospect.

Probably only a partial qualifier at the moment.

Partial Qualifiers love them some Marshall, East Carolina, et al. Miami let AJ Leggett and Kevin Grooms go to Marshall for that reason. Miami "lost" Lucas Thompson to ECU for that very reason this year.

They wouldn't have or didn't qualify...so, they go to a school that accepts partial qualifiers so they can get into school...they have to sit a year of football out and just take classes and practice, but they get into a school.

Didn't Ohio State basically tell Erick Howard to go to Akron a few years ago because there wasn't a chance he'd get in...he went JUCO instead?
