I came out of this one, not thinking I just saw another Batman movie, but I saw one of the best crime/dramas since ''The Departed.'' As hit or miss as Christian Bale has been throughout his career, there isn't an actor better for this role.

It took me almost a year after MDB came out for me to see it. I wasn't gunna get suckered into the hype around Oscar season (especially like I did with Crash *insert face palm here*). I saw it with no expectations and I regretting waiting so long, even though that might have been the reason I liked it so much it to start off with. All of the performances in that movie were top notch. Plus Clint knows exactly what he's doing behind the camera.

sidenote: Hilary Swank was alright in Boys Don't Cry, but that movie wasn't really for me, even though I wanted to plant one of my turds on Chloe Sevigny's tit mole.

Nope.

I can honestly say that I have not seen a single movie in 2009, that I would even consider adding to my top 20. There's still a lot I have to check out, but this has been one of the worst years for movies, at least for me. You look back at 2008, and you had to actually leave movies off your top 10. Too bad they didn't wait to release movies like ''Let The Right One In'' this year, because it may have gotten more attention.

I am open to suggestions, believe me.. Because when ''Star Trek'' is the only movie that leaves you thinking ''Damn. That was pretty fucking good, after all,'' it just hasn't been a great year. I'm not knocking ''Star Trek,'' by the way, I really did like it.

I said it back in 2006, and I am saying it again right now - ''Pans Labyrinth'' is better than ''The Departed.''

I feel like 2009 was the year of low budget movies. There was quite a few I really enjoyed. I think if you havent seen them you should see 500 Days of Summer, Moon, Stardust(this was 07 or 08 I believe), Carriers, and Pandorum.

I admit it, I'm one of those people that would rather not read subs, so when I ran into this one at the local video store, I almost passed it up. By doing that, though, not only would I be missing out on one of the best movies of the decade, but I would have missed out on some of the best movies ever made. As you can tell by the last two picks, I've gotten over my hatred for subs... and I've even come to welcome them with open arms.

Along with giving us one of the best speeches of 2008, Mickey Rourke gave us one of the best movies. I've never been a fan of Mickey Rourke - The guy is a sleazy, low life piece of shit - but the one thing I respect about the man, is the fact that he'll tell you he's a sleazy, low life piece of shit. The man deserved the best actor award, but no way in hell was he going to get it, especially after the speech he gave previous to the academy award show, which is one of the best speeches I have ever heard an actor make.

This is probably where some of you think to yourself ''lol, wtf?'' Before the neg bombs begin, let me just say that if given the chance, Bill Murray is one of the finest actors we have going today. And for the first time in years, and I mean years, I tuned in to watch the academy awards, where Bill Murray was favored by many many people to walk away with best actor - that was reason enough for me to suffer through hours of whatever shit they threw up on stage. And when they were about to name the best actor, and Sean Penns name was called out, and the camera slowly moved by Bill Murray - I am not ashamed to say, a tear came to my eye. And I am not ashamed to say, I fucking love this movie. To this very day, I am still pissed off about the screw job that he got... Well, he isn't getting screwed on my list, because in my opinion, ''Lost in Translation'' just proves what a great actor Bill Murray is, when given the chance. I will never watch another academy award show as long as I live.

Good stuff. You're right - '08 was one of the best years of the decade for movies & '09 seems to be one of the worst.

Can't say what I think of your #1, I've only seen bits & pieces of it (just never quite got around to it). I'll be sure to check it out soon.

And lol at The Aviator, perhaps Dicaprio's worst performance of his career (don't give me the award BS). Wait, I forgot about "The Beach".

I don't think Di Caprio was bad in The Aviator but at the same time, I don't think he was quite right for the role. It's not one of my faves but lots of people love it, so I have no prob with Nuk having it on his list.
