I don't dislike the Nassib pick as I think he will be one of the best, if not the best, QB from this draft, but I do think we could have waited a year or two before drafting Eli's potential successor. Seeing some of the guys that were still on the board, I was a little disappointed that we traded up for a clipboard holder, but I know Reese is never gonna go away from his BPA method, especially considering the success it has given have.

Point taken, but think about it....we've been living the "oh shit we're fucked if Eli gets hurt," mantra for the last 5 years now.........Reese knows sooner or later that the odds will stop working in our favor.....a QB this good still hanging around in the 4th round is too good to pass up and I'm sure it changed his draft plans once he saw Nassib still there

kevin boss was never really more than just a serviceable TE and steve smith was coming off what ended up basically being a career-ending injury (retired 2 days ago after doing nothing on the eagles and rams the past 2 year) so neither were a great loss. cruz is a different breed. i know hes just a "slot guy" but explosive playmakers like him aren't a dime a dozen. i would be extremely disappointed if they don't get a long term deal done.
 
the alternate pants the giants are gonna wear for 2 games next year. like the design but dont really like the grey. should just be red white and blue

surgery was successful. seems like it was a pretty common surgery, hopefully JPP can be 100% for the start of the season. he must of gotten hurt carrying that defensive line on his back the entire season :shifty:

Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul underwent a successful procedure this morning to repair a herniated disc in his lower back. The microdiscetomy was performed by Dr. Robert Watkins at Marina Del Rey Hospital in Marina Del Rey, Calif.

Recovery and rehabilitation is anticipated to be approximately 12 weeks.

"Jason has been experiencing lower back pain that past couple months," said Ronnie Barnes, Giants Sr. Vice President of Medical Services. "He has managed the discomfort with treatment and core strengthening exercises. Last week, he was examined by Drs. Russell Warren and Frank Cammisa at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Both felt this procedure was the most prudent course of action. Dr. Watkins, after examining Jason yesterday, agreed. We expect a full and complete recovery."

“My back has been bothering me for a while, and even last season I played through some back issues,” said Pierre-Paul. “The treatment I’ve been doing has helped manage the issue, but this procedure is going to get me fully healthy and there should be no more pain. I’m going to do everything the doctors tell me to do during my rehab so I can be back playing the game I love at a high level as quickly as possible.”

Cruz rolling the dice signing that tender instead of signing that contract the Giants offered for 8 mil per that is very generous for a slot guy......he wants to be paid like a #1 WR, 11 mil per, but I highly doubt he's going to get that anywhere.......God forbid he gets hurt this year and blows millions

These guys still don't seem to realize that the Giants never blink
 
Receiver Victor Cruz is finalizing negotiations on a six-year contract, $43 million contract with the New York Giants, a league source said.

Cruz's new deal includes the first-round restricted free-agent tender worth $2.879 million that he signed in June after months of stalled negotiations over a long-term extension and adds five additional seasons.

ProFootballTalk.com had earlier reported a Cruz deal was imminent after ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported last week that the team expected to have Cruz signed before training camp.

Cruz, 26, is coming off two productive seasons with a total of 168 catches for 2,628 yards and 19 touchdowns.

it really just depends on what happens this year. if nicks continues to have injuries and misses games hes obviously not going to have very much leverage in contract talks but if he stays healthy and has another big year like he did in 2010 and 2011 he could be looking for a big payday which could be troublesome for the giants cause they most likely wouldn't be able to afford it. would nicks settle for something similar to what cruz got or would he want more? they could put a franchise tag on him but at the price of $10.5 million its doubtful considering that would mean 14% of their entire salary cap would be tied up between just 2 WR's (nicks/cruz). basically just gotta watch how it plays out throughout the year and next off-season. and dont forget about reuben randle who steadily improved throughout last year and showed glimpses of being a solid outside threat.
