Exactly. I'm fucking livid at Jerry Reese right now. You mean to tell me he couldn't re-work other contracts to keep some of these guys? In the NFL, $2mil is chump change. Eli has to be pissed. Loses his most reliable option in Steve Smith to a hated division rival.

This will be the third straight year NY misses the playoffs.

With Dallas reborn after getting rid of that dummy (I cant even remember his name), the best they could hope for is a split with each team in the division.

Losing Smith is not the end of the world, remember that. One of these young guys might be a gem. Please please stay pretty much clear of major injuries from this point.
 
Ultimately a lot of will fall on Eli. He needs to protect the ball and not force so many down field passes. Also these WRs need to fucking learn to catch the ball.

I will question the LB crew....do we have anyone noteworthy in that department?

Not really.

They say Kiwanuka will be the strongside LB on early downs. That means the other two starters may be Goff and Boley by default.

Means our depth will likely be Phil Dillard, Clint Sintim, Kenny Ingram, Greg Jones, Jacquian Williams and Mark Herzlich, assuming they keep them all.
 
There's a lot of unknowns in that Giant linebacking crew, but that's what makes it so exciting

And the way they're talking up JPP, I can't wait to see this kid play more.....they already took him off special teams (against his will) so they are protecting what they think is a very valuable commodity

Eagles doctors seem to think he will be ready by October.
 
Giants S/LB Chad Jones (fractured tibia, fibula) is back running sprints and plans to be clocked in the 40-yard dash in early October.
Jones is on his way back after that scary auto accident he was involved in last summer. He still plans on returning to football, although that's far from guaranteed. Jones will spend this season on the non-football injury list.
 
Osi Umenyiora is suddenly willing to "give up his demand for the Giants to redo his contract or trade him," a source tells the New York Daily News.
Umenyiora appears ready to cave. He's meeting with a specialist in Atlanta about his knee today and is tentatively expected to be cleared to return to practice Monday. The incentive package that the Giants offered earlier is still on the table and Umenyiora will likely accept that and move on. He'll likely rotate with Jason Pierre-Paul until he reaches full strength.

I'll believe it when I see it, man. With the holes this team has(o-line, TE & no stud LB), I'm looking at 8-8 or 9-7. They have to show me something before I get all giddy, like not choking away games.

Mike Francesca nailed it - the Giants have major egg on their face. If they were serious about re-signing Smith, why fool around and let him field offers from other teams? Get the shit done!

I will always cherish my time in NY and the super bowl victory.. This was obviously not an easy decision for me or something i ever expected but unfortunately the business aspect proved that the eagles wanted me to be part of their organization MUCH more than the Giants did.. A special thanks to my WR buddies, coach Gilbride, all of u amazing fans on here, and the entire giants organization for drafting me.. Time for a new beginning...
