Romo has cemented his legacy in Dallas I think. With the Bills and Chiefs in desperate need of help at QB and some talent spread throughout their roster, the Cowboys could get a deal for Romo they can't pass up. I think installing a vertical passing offense with Kyle Orton, while drafting someone to grow behind him, would be a good choice if they get a good package for Romo.

You are right, Ware should not have been on the field. Very slow to react to things, and he kept getting pushed off the point of attack by whoever was blocking him.

So the bad is being 1-6 in "win or go home" games? I mean, I get that you might not have a better option available, but the guy has not performed well in clutch games. To me, that's enough to move on, even if it's to Kyle Orton or another QB. At this point, you already know what Romo is going to get you, he's 32 and the odds like he will magically improve ala Rich Gannon is pretty small. With the amount of teams that are desperate for a QB like Buffalo, Arizona and KC, it might benefit Dallas in the long run to move him now.

A year ago, Mike Shanahan was putting the finishing touches on his second disappointing season as the Redskins' coach. The team finished 5-11 on the heels of a 6-11 record in 2010, and the conversation had gradually progressed from "Here's the guy who's gonna finally save the franchise!" to "So who's Dan Snyder going to hire next?"

And then the front office pulled off the biggest trade in team history, drafted quarterback Robert Griffin III, and 10 wins later, the Redskins are division champs and will host the Seahawks on Wild Card Weekend. And while it wasn't as straightforward as "Draft franchise QB, get comfortable for annual playoff runs" -- Washington was 3-6 before reeling off seven in a row -- RG3 has had a lot to do with the turnaround, and with it, Shanahan's job security.

According to the Washington Post's Mark Maske, the organization is seriously considering negotiating a contract extension this offseason with Shanahan.

"One person with knowledge of the team's deliberations on the matter said Monday that Redskins officials were trying to decide whether to work on a possible extension with Shanahan this offseason, with two seasons left on his existing contract, or wait to do it when he's down to one season remaining on his contract," Maske wrote on New Year's Eve.

In January 2010, the Redskins originally signed Shanahan to a five-year deal thought to pay him approximately $7 million a season.

“I'm very proud of this group because there are a lot of people, when you're 3-6, who find some adversity and they're not strong enough mentally to really go out there and practice hard, give themselves a chance to accomplish goals,” Shanahan said Monday. “You have to have strong character to take criticism and not worry about what's being said and just focus on your job.”

No, the irony of that statement isn't lost on us.

Either way, Shanahan deserves credit for turning the Redskins' season around. But it's also worth pointing out that, like every successful coach in recent memory, it helps to have a franchise quarterback under center.

came back against the Eagles: didnt need to show much and they won
played against the Cowboys in a Win or Done situation: didnt need to show much but still was able to run. although; Morris had a career night.

there was no need for RGIII to more than what he did the last 2 games.

The thing is, the Redskins knew they could run on Dallas. Plenty of players hurting, and they kept running at Ware who was powerless to stop anything as he was playing hurt. I mean, have we seen anything from RGIII in the past three games? The Seahawks have little film of RGIII to work off of with him going full strength, so I expect some newer things that have been kept under wraps. Very smart decision, how they played things down the stretch. They didn't overplay their hand, like the Vikings did against Green Bay (though not having Ponder didn't help.)

What is everyone's thoughts on London Fletcher? As much as I love the guy, I think he needs to call it a career. He's possibly the slowest linebacker in the league right now and he's trying to arm tackle a lot for some reason.

He still does pretty good in zone coverage, and is a leader out there. I'd certainly like to transition someone into the role of defensive leader over the next season, the new guy who is going to wear the headset and be able to make adjustments on-field. I think that guy could be Kerrigan, and I'd like to see the Redskins draft an inside backer early to start getting some reps behind Fletcher.

i cant tell what play in the game "re-aggrevated" RGIII's knee but in the 2nd half, it was obvious that he was hurting. he looked great in the 1st half, the team played great and was rolling.
Defense still kept us in the game; all the way to the 4th qtr when Cousins came in..........

Hankerson dropped a critical 3rd & 8 pass at the 8min mark, at mid-field. that was big.....
Seahawks converted a huge 3rd and 12, on a TE dump off to Miller, which just killed us.

i would have loved to have seen the Redskins win this game, but risking RGIII in the 2nd half was a little too much. when he ran that 9 run.......i mean hobbled, i thought for sure they were going to pull him out.
his knee just kept getting worse.

anyway;
it was a GREAT RUN..........i loved every minute of our 7 game win-streak to take the division and get to the playoffs.

if he only slid on that play against the Ravens, we would have a healthy RGIII that could have been a much greater run :thumbsup:

Normally I'm not a big fan of the opinion pieces from ESPN, but this is from the guy who covers the NFC East teams and it's actually really good. Very long, so I'm not posting all of it. This one part probably sums up a lot of our thoughts on it:

I say they got that wrong, and that letting your franchise quarterback stay in a hyper-intense football game on a sloppy field when he's favoring an already-injured knee is a high-level mistake. I give Shanahan credit for admitting that he may have made the wrong decision; I just believe it's clear that he did. In hindsight, for sure, and from the consequence-free comfort of the press box while it was ongoing. But the fact that it was hard for Shanahan to see the right decision does not excuse him from failing to make it. He gets paid $7 million a year to make the biggest decisions for the Redskins, and he whiffed on this one.

With the field being as bad as it was, and clearly being re-injured somewhere late in the first, he should have been pulled at half-time. I could understand this decision if we were like the Falcons, and had something to prove by needing to win this game. However, the Redskins won seven straight to get into the playoffs, were playing on a bad field where a Seahawks player tore his ACL, and as division champs in RGIII's first season here, had nothing to prove. Let Cousins go in and try and move the ball. If the Redskins could have gotten a TD drive out of Cousins, and some sustained movement, they probably would have won the game, as the defense did a good job of holding the Seahawks offense through the third, and just got gassed with the offense not helping them.
