Gonna watch RG3 get sacked after hanging on to the ball for longer than a second. Would have much rather spent the money on Alex Mack and another guard.

RGIII doesn't need any help hanging onto the ball. If anything, Jackson will help the offensive line because you can set him up a variety of quick patterns and screens designed to get him the ball.

We also should wait for the draft to see how things fall for the line. The three interior positions currently have four folks vying for them- Lauvao, Chester, Lichensteiger and McGlynn. We invested a third round pick in LeRibeious and also have another guard, Adam Gettis, on the roster. Gruden is going to see what he has going into the OTA prior to the draft and is going to be able to see where they need to go from there.

I do realize that, to us, that line looks subpar. I'm explaining this move from the perspective of Allen and Gruden. But, I also trust in Chris Foerster to get the most out of the line like he's done in the past.

The Redskins are loaded on offense, having added DeSean Jackson to a group that already featured Pierre Garcon, Jordan Reed and Alfred Morris. Everything hinges on quarterback Robert Griffin III. But Washington's not taking any chances, backing him up further by landing Colt McCoy.

The team announced the signing Thursday afternoon and it gives them a pretty solid trio of quarterbacks on their depth chart.

It should also open up the flood of speculation about the future of Kirk Cousins.

Cousins was drafted in the fourth round of 2012, the same year Griffin was selected No. 2 overall. He has been a serviceable backup, but didn't put up big numbers against bad defenses while starting down the stretch in 2013. That was a major red flag.

But teams are always looking for ways to get quarterbacks and Cousins has starts under his belt. Kyle Shanahan, his former offensive coordinator, is now in Cleveland where they don't have a quarterback. Washington, without their first-round pick, would love to pick up some selections in the 2014 NFL Draft.

With McCoy in the fold, the Cousins rumor mill can get cranked up full steam.

Anyone have terms of the deal? The Post hasn't reported it yet either. Also, the Ryan Clark deal was for one year and $1 million, which isn't bad at all.

I don't think they will be pushing hard to deal Cousins though, but that is what the media is going to make it out to be. With RGIII's knee, they have to have two backups I think. We saw what happened with Romo last year going down, and with Orton starting, they brought back Kitna. If Orton went down, we all know how that would have ended with Kitna. Having that third QB is definitely needed right now.

Switch Jackson and Clark, and that's how I feel about it. I do like bringing Clark's leadership back to Washington though and that could have played a factor in bringing Jackson into the fold this year.

I'm a little hesitant to get excited about Desean right now, I'm taking more of a wait and see approach.

I secretly still hope we somehow bring back Champ to finish his career on the skins regardless of whatever position he plays With all the youth at DB on our team for next year (I'm hoping we bring in at least 1 more DB through this draft) Champ and Clark would be great additions to help mold these guys.

Champ went to NOLA, but that was a good idea in theory. I am still not sold Bailey would have come back, though I would have loved for that to happen. I do agree with drafting another DB as well.

Also thought it was interesting we re-signed Rob Jackson on a one year deal today. If they were going to do that, they should have let Orakpo test the market and not wasted the cap space on the franchise tag. That ate up a third of what we had available.

For his talent, that isn't a bad contract at all, and we're seeing some serious hindsight action here as far as how much of a "cancer" or whatever he was in Philly. He was as boisterous as many WRs, no more, no less, and for all of his slacking off, he certainly had a pretty damn good season last year.

The problem he'll have is the same problem any diva-ish WR has: if RGIII has another sketchy season, he will probably start to bitch. But that's nothing new for WR anywhere, and I refuse to believe that these guys actually cause the distraction some people claim that they do.

Anyone who thinks that is a bad contract is clearly looking at it through hater glasses, whether they are those who hate Jackson on principle, or Eagles fans happy to see him go. If you look at some of the contracts given out recently, Jackson's is a very good deal. Hell, Golden Tate is only making about $4 million less guaranteed, and Jackson is likely two classes above Tate.

I think it's a non-issue, but people are going to make it an issue because it's DeSean Jackson. It would certainly help the perception of him in the present if he showed up, but in the long-run I don't think it matters either way. I'm also sure it came up during negotiations, and if the Redskins really thought he should be there, Jackson would be there.

Brandon Moore was an undrafted free agent last year who spent time with the Broncos and Chargers on their practice squads. Last month, the defensive end was signed by the Redskins, but now it looks like his road to Washington's 53-man roster has gotten rockier.

That's because the NFL announced Tuesday that Moore has been suspended for the first four games of the 2014 season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

He'll still be eligible to participate in offseason workouts and preseason games, but the first day he'd be eligible to practice in the regular season would be Sept. 29.

If he's even on the Redskins squad at that point.

The defensive line has a lot of depth already, can't see Moore making the roster even without this suspension hanging over his head.

I wouldn't jinx it yet.......Moore didn't have a great chance at making the roster without the suspension. You are inviting another suspension with that comment :tiptoe:
