good compilation of issues faced and possible fixes for any problems faced thus far:

BEFORE RUNNING TO REDDIT FOR HELP, ACTUALLY GO TO THE XBOX SUPPORT! and then try these things if no luck. Do not Just run here making new Posts asking for help without going through proper troubleshooting! that kind of method helps NO ONE.This is just to compile a list of possible problems you can face
1.disc drive not reading game/ loud noise coming from drive (This is the most common issue right now, so far 4-5 cases of this, DO NOT PUT YOUR XBOX VERTICALLY, ONLY HORIZONTALLY)

2.Hanging load screen (If you are stuck at the Xbox logo after updating, DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR CONSOLE.)

3. Ban after using EOU UPDATE ( previously had problems with OS hanging)

4. slow installations if you are having slow disc based installation, do NOT remove disc from console without stopping the install. after stopping the install remove the disc and and completely unplug the console and wait 15 minutes before trying again.
Dont bloody try to install 2 THINGS at once


5. controller not responding after turning console on in intial setup TURN THE CONSOLE OFF AND ON- THEN IT is fixed


6. cross game party system is is defaulted as off,You have to "Turn on party chat" before joining here is how to do it:

7.I ran into error code 0x80bd0009* after attempting to set up the X1 to output surround audio. I found an Xbox Support twitter thread that explained how to troubleshoot this error and it worked: Press Menu Button, Settings, Display & Sound, ensure HDTV is "select," not "auto." This relaunched my display in 480p, which I easily changed back to 1080p; but the key is that this reset my audio output options. I could now select HDMI audio for 5.1 and DTS, which I couldn't before. Hopefully this helps others with the same error code.

I will have to say walking in the room saying "xbox on" then kinect sees me and says "hi jason" and signs me is pretty damned cool. Its also really nice that I dont have to raise my voice at all. I just talk normally.

They need to improve the friends list and party system. Its all still therr and functional but way more complicated that it used to be. Looking through achievements is more time consuming as well...therefore I wont look at them

Rubber is burning on the race circuits and enemy armies are crumbling on the battlefields. Microsoft has sold more than 1m Xbox One consoles in 24 hours, smashing previous records, and enthusiastic gamers are already putting their machines to the test.

The third version of the US firm's best-selling console, and the first new design to appear in eight years, made its debut in the UK and 13 other markets on Friday, but is already sold out in most retailers.

Microsoft statisticians estimate that owners of the new console have already dispatched more than 60m zombies, driven 3.6m miles and earned 43m fit points as they explore some of the 22 titles available at launch.

"Xbox One is now sold out at most retailers," the company said in a release. "We are working to replenish stock as fast as possible to meet the unprecedented demand from our customers."

The Xbox One is being pitched head to head with Sony's PlayStation 4. The Japanese company's first console release since 2006 sold 1m units in a day after going on sale in just the US and Canada on Friday 15 November. The PlayStation 4 arrives in the UK on Friday.

John Lewis sold its entire stock within two hours of the Xbox One being available online, the retailer said on Sunday. This helped push the department store group's sales above a record £100m for the second week running. The retailer predicts Microsoft's console, which costs £429.99, will outsell Sony's, despite the PlayStation 4's lower £349.99 price tag.

Gamers will be drawn to titles that are exclusive to the Xbox One including Forza Motorsport 5, and a forthcoming live action television series directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the Halo game.

"With exclusive titles, a strong multimedia offering, plus a thoroughly re-worked Kinect motion control system, the Xbox One appears to be ahead of the game this Christmas," said John Lewis gaming buyer Robert Hennessey. "Time will tell which brand continues to deliver the goods, but for now, it's advantage Microsoft."

British games designers will be among the biggest winners from the console wars. The UK industry is spending £68m advertising these new machines and the titles that accompany them in anticipation of a bumper Christmas.

Kinect Sports Rivals, driving game The Crew and the science fiction title Fable Legends are among the UK games designed for the new consoles, and sales will add a final flourish to a record year in which Grand Theft Auto V, created by Scottish firm Rockstar North, became the fastest-selling title in history.

"We are working hard to create more Xbox One consoles and look forward to fulfilling holiday gift wishes this season, said Yusuf Mehdi, a marketing and strategy executive at Xbox.

Looks like M$ didn't do any testing when it came to Euro TV boxes. People who hook their Sky and other provider boxes in have found the image to stutter. This is because Euros are using 50HZ and not 60HZ like the USA.

Don't use profanity in your Upload Studio videos or you might get banned from using it.

A Microsoft representative responded to our requests, explaining that the company does not monitor private Skype conversations — however, "excessive profanity" in Upload Studio videos will result in suspensions.

"To be clear, the Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement team does not monitor direct peer-to-peer communications like Skype chats and calls," the representative wrote. "Also, we take Code of Conduct moderation via Upload Studio very seriously. We want a clean, safe and fun environment for all users. Excessive profanity as well as other Code of Conduct violations will be enforced upon and result in suspension of some or all privileges on Xbox Live. We remain committed to preserving and promoting a safe, secure and enjoyable experience for all of our Xbox Live members."

It would seem the users who posted screenshots of their Skype application preventing them access received a full Xbox Live ban in another app, while reports of Upload Studio bans were potentially accurate. We've reached out to Microsoft again to find out how uploaded videos are being moderated, and will update this article with any additional information we receive.

Seems funny considering games like BF4 have profanity all over the place. MS would be better off using a mature content tag/filter instead of banning folks over this shit.

Is anybody else having issues with their Xbox One turning itself on randomly? Tonight is two nights in a row that it was on when I was shutting everything down in the living room.

I thought it was on from some electrical work being done for my generator today, they kept turning things on and off. Weird, I'll have to keep an eye on it.
