Console will require a day one patch, without it all the DRM stuff will remain active. Which means they could flip the switch back on at any point, since it's merely a patch and making that Major Nelson comment even more hilarious. Bunch of lying twats.

This wouldn't have been as big of a problem had Microsoft had any clue as to how to reveal all of this stuff to the masses. Instead of coming out with it at the reveal, they had numerous people contradicting each other to journalists behind closed doors. Then at E3 you have Mattrick being a complete moron with how he talks to the media.
I never said I think it's exclusive because of cloud computing. All I've done is say that a Respawn exec has said this and asked for evidence that claimed otherwise.
