I hate it too, but both consoles are going to do it. Always on Internet connection is here to stay. Frankly, I'm impressed used games might still be ok next era.

Sony already stated they aren't doing this. I'm gonna be a one console man next cycle and it's not going to be this multimedia centric always-on piece of shit. I want a gaming console and Sony wants me to have one, so for that, they can have my loonies.


Microsoft got a case of the hubris going on and I can't wait for all the hype....

Honestly if both consoles don't present something intriguing at launch, I will just stay with the PC. The next gen graphics are pretty much here just play Tomb Raider or Bioshock on the PC. The games are cheaper and I wont need to spend a dime.

For me it's just a matter of where I'm gonna play sports gaming cause the genre all but dead on PC. When I eventually build a new PC, all gaming will happen there, not dealing with all the console bullshit no more but sports leaves little option.
