all right guys, I became inactive after the loss to Boise, kinda depressing. My file got corrupted so I'm starting over. I still won't be as active as I was with this, but that's cuz of school lol.

David Wilson and DJ Coles Among Others Redshirted
Frank Beamer is very excited about this season. He is finalizing his roster and decided to redshirt the very talented David Wilson. Beamer likes the way Wilson plays and what he brings to the field. He would be the fourth string running back this year behind Josh Oglesby. Wilson will be a Sophomore again next year after his redshirt season. DJ Coles is a talented young receiver who will also be sitting out. Coles wouldn't be getting much playing time with a very good receiving core. Coles, a freshman, will have four years of elgibility after this season. Many other freshman were redshirted for the Hokies to save a year of elgibility. The Hokies roster is set and ready for Boise State.​

Hokies Ready to Get On Field

Virginia Tech has finished up practices for the week, and they are ready for their game in Landover, Maryland. The game will be at Fed Ex Field, home of the Redskins. However, on Monday night it will be home to the Hokies who will host Boise State in this top 10 matchup. Boise State returns 20 of 22 starters and they are looking to make a statement early in the year. Known for their trickory, the Broncos are sure to bring it against the Hokies in a big game. If Boise were to win this game, they will finally get their national championship consideration. Frank Beamer is ready to lead his team out onto the field with Enter Sandman and the Hokie Nation rocking the stadium. Tyrod Taylor, Ryan Williams, and Jarrett Boykin will all have to have good games on the offensive side of the ball for the Hokies. They can't have any turnovers giving Boise the ball back. Boise returning 20 starters is experienced and needs to play together like they have the past couple years. The Hokies have a young defense this year, and this is a tough test for some of their first games. Bud Foster will have to work on controlling their emotions and making adjustments during the game with these young defenders. Boise again needs to use their experience to get their offense the ball back. Kirk Herbstreit has picked Boise State to win this game. "Not so fast my friend!" Lee Corso said picking the Hokies.​

Boise Stunned
Boise State comes into Fed Ex Field confident and ready to show the nation they belong with the top teams. Virginia Tech took the field ready to make a statement about not only their team, but the ACC as well. Boise State and Virginia Tech both struggled to get anything going early. On Boise's second drive, they took the ball deep into Hokie territory, but were stopped and held to a 26-yard field goal. Kellen Moore struck in the opening seconds of the second quarter with Titus Young on a 60-yard touchdown pass to give Boise a 10-0 lead. Ryan Williams scored on Virginia Tech's next possesion with a 2-yard touchdown run. On Boise's next possesion, Kellen Moore threw an interception to give the Hokies great field position. This led to a 7-yard run by Tyrod Taylor to give the Hokies a 14-10 lead. The Hokies weren't done yet, their defense forced a fumble and recovered on the Boise 10 yard-line. Tyrod Taylor hooked up with Danny Coale on a 1-yard screen pass to give the Hokies a 21-10 halftime lead. Titus Young, late in the third quarter, caught his second touchdown pass from Kellen Moore, 34 yards. 21-17 Boise cut into the lead. Tech has a quick three and out giving Boise State the ball. Kellen Moore and Titus Young connect one more time on a 57-yard touchdown pass, Boise leads 24-21. Kellen Moore and the Broncos throw the ball to try and put the Hokies away, however Jacob Sykes picks the Kellen Moore pass off and returns it 89 yards to give the Hokies a 28-24 lead. Moore was injured on the first play after the interception, causing backup quarterback Mike Coughlan to lead Boise. Mike got hit hard on a 9-yard sack with another fumble, leading to the final score by Darren Evans on a 1-yard touchdown run. Virginia Tech makes a big statement about their team, it was a lot closer than the score showed in Boise's defense.

Week 2 Preview
Auburn vs. Mississippi State

Look for Auburn's Cam Newtown to break out against the Bulldog's defense. Auburn will win, but the margin will be close on the road.

17 LSU vs. Vanderbilt

LSU's defense will be overpowering against Vandy. Don't expect this game to be close, LSU rolls to 2-0.

11 Georgia Tech vs. Kansas

Kansas doesn't have a very good team this year. Todd Reesing left and it's a start of a new era in Jayhawk football. Georgia Tech will run with success, but Kansas keeps it close and wins by a field goal.

18 Penn State vs. 1 Alabama

The game of the week is in Tuscaloosa this week. Mark Ingram and Nick Saban match up head-to-head with Joe Paterno. Alabama will win this game, Penn State's offense won't succeed being one-dimentional with Royster out 3 weeks.

4 Oregon vs. Tennessee

Oregon will have their first true test this year in a tough place to play. Tennessee will wear down Oregon and the Ducks will fall in Knoxville.

25 Georgia vs. South Carolina

Mark Richt and AJ Green will lead the Bulldogs up against The 'Ole Ball Coach and Stephen Garcia. Stephan Garcia and the noisy Gamecocks class will upset the Bulldogs at home.

20 Florida State vs. 15 Oklahoma

Landry Jones and the Sooners will roll over Christian Ponder. This will be Ponder's first true test after his injury, as well as Fisher's first true test as a head coach. The Oklahoma crowd will be too much for the 'Noles.

14 Miami vs. 2 Ohio State

Terrelle Pryor and Jacory Harris match-up in what should be a great game. The Buckeyes defense will be too powerful for the 'Canes offense in this one. Buckeyes win by 10.

USF vs. 6 Florida

A good match-up with the Skip Holtz era starting at USF and the post-Tebow era in Gainesville. The Gators will win, but it will be a sloppy game.

Iowa State vs. 9 Iowa

A great rivalry heading to Iowa City this weekend. Expect Iowa State to keep it close early, but late in the game Ricky Stanzi and the Hawkeyes to take control of the game and win.​
