He has Matt Ryan on there and not Ben Roethlisberger.
homerism
Not really. I'm not that kinda guy. Anybody who knows my posting style on here knows I'm equally hard on my own players, and humble enough to know when my players aren't deserving. But there is no fucking way Matt Ryan is on this list and Big Ben isn't. That's asinine
He has Lawrence Timmons and not LaMarr Woodley. I'm a Steelers fan, and I don't think Timmons is top 50(yet).
meant to put Woodley
Sure you did...
Ed Reed is too high, and Troy P is too low.
homerism
Troy P is on equal level with Ed Reed, and I'd be willing to debate that all day long. I'm not trying to debate who's better, but the gap is minimal.
Charles Woodson is way too low, and should definitely be higher than Nick Collins. This isn't even funny.
i think i wanted to have that the other way around
Clay Mathews is too high on the list. Patrick Willis and Ray Lewis are both better Linebackers. Mathews should be somewhere around LaMarr Woodley territory, and he didn't even make his list.
agreed he is too high but he is way better than Woodley
whoa! Way better? WTF! You obviously have an aversion against the Steelers, and I can't quite understand it. But Woodley is every bit the linebacker Mathews is. Their stats are quite similar in fact.
Woodley
yr 1: 14 tackles, 4 sacks
yr 2: 60 tackles, 11.5 sacks, 1 int, 1 DefTD, 2 FF, 2 PD
yr 3: 62 tackles, 13.5 sacks, 0 int, 1 DefTD, 1 FF, 6 PD
yr 4: 50 Tackles, 10.0 sacks, 2 int, 1 DefTD, 3 FF, 5 PD
Playoffs: 29 , 11.0, 1 FF, 2 PD
Mathews
Yr1: 50 tackles, 10.0 sacks, 0 int, 1 DefTD, 1 FF, 7 PD
Yr2: 60 tackles, 14.0 sacks, 1 int, 1 DefTD, 2 FF, 4 PD
Playoffs: 21, 4.5, 2 FF 1 PD
All homerness aside, Woodley is a defensive playmaker. I'm not saying Mathews isn't but you have to be grossly underestimating him to not have considered him for this list, and if you think Mathews is the second best LB in the league, you're dead wrong about both of them.
Roddy White over Andre Johnson? In a word, no.
remember its going into 2011, not overall career. Roddy was the most dangerous WR in the league last year.
Based on what information? His 12.1 ypc? Reggie Wayne had similar numbers and he was targeted far less than White. And where is DeSean Jackson at? Dwayne Bowe? And another Steeler you overlooked Mike Wallace who had more yards than Andre Johnson, Fitzgerald, and Calvin Johnson. Not that he's better than those guys but Jackson, Bowe and Wallace are worth at least bringing up in this conversation of top 50's, and each were equally dangerous compared to White even without being the target of as many passes.
Justin Tuck is too high.
my homerism
agreed
Ryan Clady is too low.
i agree
agreed again
Stephen Jackson is way the fuck too high.
SJ does more on his own than any other HB
Ray Rice > SJ IMO. Charles is a poor mans Chris Johnson. SJ is tight but Rice and Charles have game breaker ability, more than SJ has anyhow.
Ray Rice and Charles should be higher than Jackson.
this can go either way depending on opinion
That's fine. I'm just stating my opinion, which I believe is more widely accepted than yours.
Greg Jennings is too high.
he has been a top 5 receiver statistically over the past 3 years
And should be higher on the list.
Michael Griffin? Seriously. You couldn't find a spot for Big Ben or Woodley but Griffin made your list?
yeah this one is pretty dumb
...yup...
again, this list was thrown together in 10 minutes. i took the bullet by posting first so i expected this. obviously, i dont take any of the criticism to heart.
I appreciate you being a good sport.
