Golden Tate sounds a little salty.

When asked about the trade, Seahawks receiver Golden Tate, whose spot on the Seahawks' depth chart will be altered with the addition of Harvin, told Josina Anderson that "it's a business."

"The Seahawks are trying to do whatever they think is necessary to put together a Super Bowl quality team. If this is one of the steps they think works to accomplish that, then that's their choice. I don't think it will impact any of our work habits. We are still going to grind and let the cards play out the way that they will," he said.

Sad to see him go, I loved to watch him play football. He made it clear he didn't want to play in Minnesota (or at least not without a massive contract), so it's nice to see the Vikings get something out of this deal.

Also, I obviously like Percy Harvin, I've just gotten used to the fact that a WR is not worth a 1st round pick. I do think Seattle overpaid, but we'll see how he does in Seattle.

I applaud Seattle for this move. Harvin is a game changer and will really help open up the Seahawks offense.

Sidney Rice - 50 catches, 748 yards, 7 TDs.

Percy Harvin (in 9 games) - 62 catches, 677 yards, 3 TDs.

Let's not forget what he can do in the return game and running the ball. It's also a great move because the Seahawks have pretty good depth at WR now. If their WR corps can stay healthy, they will be pretty damn good with Rice, Tate, Harvin, and Baldwin (assuming he's still with the Hawks?).

Not to mention it seems like the Seahawks have a hard time attracting FA's. Lynch was the biggest FA they landed in a while, at least on offense, and nobody thought he was going to be this good after Buffalo let him go.

They are building something fierce up in Seattle and I'm excited to watch the Niners and them go at it twice next season. Probably more excited about those games than any other rivalry/matchup in the league to be honest.

Marshawn did not go there as a FA, he was traded there. Seahawks gave up a 2011 fourth-round pick and a 2012 conditional pick (ended up being a 5th).

Its not a terrible deal for the Vikings at all. Harvin made it known didn't want to be in Minny and they were still able to get three picks back for him, including a first (albeit a late one).

I think they got a lot better return than the Dolphins got for Marshall just last season.

it's only "not a terrible deal" if we can find a way to replace his performance, otherwise ap is going to need back surgery next offseason.

Meh. I still don't think any WR in the NFL is really worth a first. It's the most overrated position in the league, especially when you factor in that Harvin has an attitude problem and was injured.

Drug/attitude problems at Florida, attitude problem at Minnesota. Both of these teams were winning, and he still didn't care. Once a bad attitude always a bad attitude. Let's see how happy he is when the Seahawks don't give him 150+ targets.

That said, Seattle is good enough to win with or without him.

Profootballtalk.com reports Percy Harvin's new Seahawks deal is worth $67 million over six seasons, with only $14.5 million fully guaranteed.

Another $11 million is guaranteed for injury, but this is a smaller deal than Harvin was probably expecting. It's actually worth just slightly less than Dwayne Bowe's in annual average, making Harvin -- for now -- the NFL's fifth highest paid receiver behind Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Mike Wallace, and Bowe. And the low guaranteed total protects the Seahawks. Seattle gave up a draft-pick haul for Harvin, but this looks like a great deal for the club.

The 2014 pick is a 3rd rounder.

Harvin is only 24.. if he were in this draft, I guarantee he goes higher than 25th overall.
