I'm really hoping that they use the top 6 model that was discussed earlier in the process, but considering the SEC and Big XII being adamant on top 4, I wouldn't be surprised if that passed.

I'm a big proponent of including everybody, and I always stand up for the little guy in CFB because the deck is so stacked against them, but honestly with Boise & TCU in BCS leagues, it will probably be a while before another program emerges that is deserving.

"Super conference realignment" essentially happened because schools were positioning themselves for a system that no longer exists. Surreal, actually.

This playoff came about 8 years too late. So many potentially great teams got shafted, and so many potentially great games were never played. What a shame.

Having a selection committee is better than having coaches of the actual teams involved in the rankings, and all of the mysterious computer rankings and various polls. Also it at least adds some of margin of error having 4 teams if the committee picks the 'wrong' team.

I think this an improvement, but still just a small step in the right direction.

Of course they would have. A playoff = buzz and excitement. Not to mention, a ton of teams would have been in play for playoff spots deeper into the season, making the "diminishing returns" boring regular season far more exciting.

I don't like the selection committee and would prefer 6 or 8 teams, but this is a step in the right direction and far better than the BCS.
