I hope he plays QB so I can laugh at how bad he is. Seriously, he is going to be a fucking terrible quarterback in the league. Anyone that thinks otherwise is retarded.

You think Alex Smith is a bad QB, just wait till you see Tebow.
 
But he WINS (thanks in large part to an amazing defense) and loves CONTACT (even though he recently had a pretty major concussion) and is a true leader (which means nothing without the physical tools to play QB at the next level).
 
I don't think it's fair to really compare the two guys. Yes, similar systems, same coach. But we're talking SEC football vs. Mountain West. Granted, the quality of MWC is better than ever but it's still very far away.

I think there's a completely different set of reasons why Tebow will not success at the next level. I think he could fit as a TE/FB type, but if and when Jacksonville drafts him, they will be pressured into putting at QB which is not something I think a lot of real NFL guys think he'll succeed at.

we're really not talking about SEC Vs. Mountain West. we're talking about offensive scheme.

This option spread scheme is nothing like anything Tebow will see in the pro's. he has no experience running a pro style offense and it will take him a long time before he even gets the jist. plus he has a weak arm and poor accuracy for a NFL QB. there is nothing about him that says he will be a good NFL QB. and i'm tired of people saying "leadership!!"

Pretty much every QB that has ever succeeded in college football has had great leadership. Vince Young, Tim Couch, Eric Crouch, Tee Martin, Alex Smith, Brady Quinn, Matt Leinart, etc., etc. All these guys were considered great leaders (and better pro quarterbacks than Tebow) and look at them now. Vince Young was literally one of the greatest leaders and players in college football history.

Tebow is a great leader and awesome in the offense that he plays in. Truly an awesome football player. But he lacks every skill needed to be a good NFL QB.

I see Tebow getting a chance to play QB, but I can't see a team drafting him too high to do so. Tebow will get his chance to play QB, but I don't see it working out for him. However, I do see Tebow using his celebrity to become a successful business man, philanthropist and humanitarian. Either way IMO the kid has a bright future.
 
John Gruden will take over as coach of the Redskins, draft Tebow and run the Wildcat as his base offense.

Snead has looked awful whenever I've seen him play (which hasn't been often). Tebow can throw a spiral on 1 of every 10 passes. There is just no way IMO he can be a 'normal' QB in the NFL.
 
If anybody thinks he is going to be drafted as a "wildcat QB" you are assuming he will be drafted by the dolphins right? Miami is the only team who truly runs the wildcat. Nobody is going to draft him as a "wildcat QB" if the only team that runs the wildcat is the dolphins. Last I check they have that "wildcat QB" in pat white.

Nobody else is going to draft players soley for the "wildcat"

I agree with the boom/bust analysis.

I'd take him on my team, and if he didnt pan out at QB, i'd find something for him to do.

Josh Cribbs, early slash Kordell Stewart, Brad Smith, you can point to a bunch of college QB's who at some point carved out a niche (big or small, to varying degrees) in the NFL.

Even Reggie Bush, who turned out to be a mediocre HB, has turned out to be a great PR & a pretty good slot WR, along with spelling at HB occassionally.

You can tell me an athlete the caliber of Tebow, with his natural leadership abilities and guts, dosent have a place on an NFL roster.
 
Tebow is a very overrated runner, just because they let him score TDs inside the 5 all the time doesnt mean he is a great rushing QB, he is no where near the level of Vince Young and other great rushing QBs

I think when he was a freshman or a soph you would have hoped he could play like Big Ben in the futuer and shrug of tacklers and still make a big play down the field but he doesnt have the arm or the QB skills of Big Ben

plus he cant throw a spiral and the guy is a senior, he will never make it as a NFL QB, not a great passer or a great rusher, what could he do at the NFL level playing QB?

You have to consider the fact that, ideally, you don't want a QB to be as bulky as a fullback. Now, whether he can put on that bulk and still maintain his mobility is another story.

Tebow doesn't lift or train with the QBs, he does that with the LBs, FBs and TEs. Coaches say that he routinely outperforms these guys in the weight room. I'd venture to guess he could play some fullback, he's one of the strongest guys on his college team and has played goal line back in the SEC for 3 years.
