Was bound to happen sometime during the series after what happened last night. And of course Youkilis is going to charge getting nailed two times in as many games as retaliation.

lol @ all of the tigers fans bitching as if to say the umpires can't do anything. When was the last time there was a fight and the pitcher WASN"T ejected but the batter was? The reason I'm most upset over this is because it sets an absolutely terrible standard. The umpires ejecting Porcello is basically inviting anyone to charge the mound whenever they get hit with a guarantee that you'll get the other team's pitcher thrown out. Porcello wouldn't have gotten thrown out had Youkilis just walked to first. But since YOUKILIS charged the mound, Porcello gets thrown out. Tell me how that makes sense?

Also, funny that nobody mentions that Cabrera, who is the better hitter between him and Youkilis, got hit both nights as well, and never even looked at the pitcher or think about charging.

Bottom line...Youkilis embarrassed himself by both getting man-handled by Porcello in the fight itself, throwing his helmet like a child, and running out there in the first place.

However, at the end of the day, I guess his technique worked, because it cost the Tigers a potential win. As soon as Lambert stepped foot outside the bullpen, it was game over.

wtf are you talking about with it setting a standard. The pitcher has always gets thrown out after they charge the mound. Take off the homer goggles.

Actually Cabrera and Youk are very similar and you could make the case that either one is better then the other THIS YEAR. In 13 less games Youkilis has more runs scored, more walks, a higher OBP, Higher slugging, and a higher OPS. Cabrera only has 3 more home-runs, and 1 more RBI in 13 more games than Youkilis. Only thing Cabrera holds over Youk by a decent margin is that he has a higher BA and strikeouts less. Youk is also a much better fielder than Cabrera.

if you consider using someones momentum to throw them down man-handling someone then I guess I can't argue that. I would be more impressed with Porcello if he didn't try to run away.

Exactly, at the end of the day the Red Sox improved there record to 64-48 and 15-5 against the AL Central.

and to be completely honest, i don't think Porcello completely man handled Youk..momentum was definitely in play seeing as Youk wrapped him up in a bear hug.

On another note, both Youk and Porcello got 5 game suspensions..Edwin Jackson got fined for being a little attention whore/bitch.

The way I see it, Youkilis knew it was coming. Tigers get two guys plunked Monday, he ends up the one plunked by Jackson. Another plunking of Miggy, of course Porcello's gunna throw at him. Yes, he did it intentionally, and frankly, given three plunkings in two days, I can't say I really blame the kid.

Youkilis rushed the mound, Porcello was surprised his Avila didn't grab him, and threw Youkilis down. Youkilis and Porcello were suspended, big deal.

Beyond that, this should be a non-issue as far as everything goes on both sides. The issue should be over and done with, but of course it's not going to be.

That we have fanboys on both sides of the issue throwing insults at each other and each others' cities (looking at you Nasir) really shouldn't surprise anyone either. It happens anytime something like this goes down.

Interesting. I'm about 99% sure Porcello wasn't running away from Youkilis. He was running away from taking a helmet to the dome.

Also, it's a joke that Porcello received the same number of games as helmet-throwing Youkilis. Either Porcello should get 0 starts missed and Youkilis gets 3-games, or Porcello gets 1 start missed and Youkilis gets 8-10 games.
