I don't know why, I just don't see the caps winning. Sure they are first, I just think sooner or later, outscoring their opponent will not work and they will need a superstar goalie to step up.

I was under the impression that if the Hawks were going to win it, this was the year. Next year has to many uknowns and they will be missing alot of their important pieces.

You just described one line...But you can almost guarantee that Sharp, Versteeg, Big Buff, Ladd, Barker, Madden etc...a handful of guys like that will be gone. Not to mention they have to come up with money for Hjalmersson and Niemi.

I don't know, I think I would be happy with pieces of those 6 players to begin with and build around them. New players will come and they may be that extra step into the next round or the cup.

The problem is...those 6 pieces take up a huge amount of the cap...add in Huets brutal contract and what we have is a cluster fuck in the making. Next year will have a good amount of quality guys, but if the Hawks are going to win it this is the year. Im almost certain you will see one of the forwards moved in the next months..not sure which one but its either Sharp, Versteeg, Ladd or Big Buff.

Killgod laughed at me, but there has been alot of talk about the Hawks packaging a few of those guys to land Ilya Kovalchuk for the stretch run.
