He'd be the 15th QB off the board in 2011. Sometimes during weak QB classes teams waste a high pick on a guy who sucks. It happens. Or do you still think the Dolphins are committed to John Beck?

I really couldn't disagree more. Yeah, they did pick a career back-up QB with a second rounder but that was before Harbaugh knew if Smith would return or not. They didn't have a choice with that lockout. QB is a need position in San Francisco.

I like Colin Kaepernick.. but there's no way in f'n hell the 49ers would pass on Andrew Luck because he was on their roster.

The lockout raised the stock of several QB's that otherwise would not have been selected as high as they were. Kaepernick was one of these guys.
