Questions for EA devs on FIFA '13? Post them here

Has off-ball CPU awareness been fixed? For instance if I pass the ball to a CPU players, will they just wait for the ball to come to them or will they go get the ball. This also applies to defense. I don't want my defensive players to just watch a loose ball, they should attack it.

In PES, your teammates will attack loose balls. :shifty:

Has attacking near the goal changed? Some times players on the attacking team will back away from a loose ball right near goal for no reason. Ex. http://www.ea.com/uk/football/videos/ugc/112405382

I'm not really sure how to form this as a question, but the transfer system has been ridiculously unrealistic (way too much movement, unrealistic transfers, only big players moving, etc.), enough to completely turn me off from the manager mode after just weeks (in-game) of playing. Have they done anything to remedy this?

Has transfers been fixed, same damn players move every time. Is progression fixed for youth players? Will my AI teamates make runs instead of jusr runninng to the ball. Will AI teams have varied playstyles and not just all poay Barca ball? Anychance of an online leage system as oppossed to friendly seasons?

How about user passing? Because right now it fucking sucks sometimes. I'll want to pass the ball to a guy to the near right of me but instead it sends the ball to the far right guy and gets intercepted.

Another example, I'll want to play a lob pass to the guy making a run up the middle but instead the lob pass goes to a guy standing a little in front of me to the left.

I just heard from EA this morning that the FIFA interview is going to be pushed out a few weeks. The devs are all in Germany for Gamescon this week and the following week they are in lockdown for final testing on the game. Will keep you posted with updates.

Why do defenders have the intelligence of 5 year olds?

1) What has happened to Be A Ref Mode?
- Is it still a part of the future?
- Was it ever part of the plan?
- Will there be any sort of career made out of it?

2) A huge part of the soccer game, in some minds sadly, is diving or perhaps allowing yourself to hit the ground. Why isn't this implemented into FIFA like it is in PES? Is EA planning to add this into future games? Maybe carded if you try and dive in the wrong spot or too close to the ref?

3) Has there been any thought to lock the right stick so that to do different skill moves the direction would not changed based on which way you're running?

4) What I've noticed is that on the harder difficulties, especially Legendary, it doesn't matter what team you play against, they play like a Man U or Barcelona despite only being an nPower 2 League team. How do you as developers balance difficulty with realism in how teams and players perform (with poor touches and decisions) and how can we as users expect this to improve in the future?

5) Has there been any thought to intensify a sort of home-field advantage as EA has done with the NCAA series? It has to be easier to play at Red Bulls Stadium on a random Saturday night than walk into Camp Nou and face the fans there. Perhaps communication breakdowns and things of the sort?

6) Do you feel as though the AI may attack too quickly? I know its a 15 minute game rather than 45 minute halves, and that forces quicker movement, but rarely do we see passing through the back line or switching fields. Its more of a 1-2 on one side of the field for the most part.

7) Is it possible to make teammates (AI) more aggressive on loose balls. It seems like I always have to manually take control of a player and try and run halfway across the field to contend for a ball in the air that the CPU may already be under as an opponent.

8) In line with the last question, it feels like way too frequently my AI players will watch balls go right past their feet to an opponent just because they weren't necessarily marking that man. Is this something that is fixable? Or something that has been noticed/being worked on?

9) How much reliance does EA put into users tweaking sliders as opposed to having the game come out with the sliders on default providing the realest game possible?

Did EA forget about fouls? In the 40+ games I've played I've encountered maybe 1 free kick every other game.
