its the defenseless receiver rule. they know they cant do that. This is exactly why they have this rule. this WR got knocked the fuck out by a hit that was totally un necessary.

if that was an illegal hit, then there is no difference in the tackling form/the way a defender uses his body, you know, defensively, between that being flagged for an illegal hit, or stopping a receiver from making the completion/maybe causing a fumble.
