Report: Mike Bush being shopped...

I find it amusing that most of the people that criticize Raider players have probably only seen a handful of Raider games over the past 5 years (since they always suck and are never on TV).

Michael Bush is going to be really good once he learns how to play at an NFL level. In all honesty, I think he is the best pure running back on the Raiders roster right now. I don't know what the Raiders will get for him but anything less than a 2nd rounder would be disappointing, IMO.

I honestly would not want the Raiders to trade Bush for a 3rd round pick and that is because I have seen the guy play, unlike most of the people in this thread.

Ive saw Bush play in HS, College, and the NFL. He was one of the most dominant HS football players i ever saw. He is a decent back but I was just saying the way NFL teams put so much value on picks I doubt they'd get a 2 from anyone. Randy Moss brought a 4th rounder, Steve McNair brought a 7th rounder, Kellen Winslow a 2 and a 5th rounder. Bush isnt in the same class with those guys in my eyes.

I think last year was the first year they weren't on TV every damn week up here in Seattle.

The previous season, EVERY game was aired here.

Bush won't get a first day pick. People know the Raiders have a log jam at RB, they're not feeling rushed to jack the price up for him. They might get 2 draft picks, but they'll be 4th and later.

This year was the first year that Michael Bush has been healthy. Prior to this past season, he didn't even play, so even if you got to see the Raiders play two seasons ago you didn't see Michael Bush play. So for you to sit there and act like you have seen the guy play is a bunch of horse shit.

Either way, Justin Fargas is going to be 30 years old by the time the 2009 season starts. His future is not looking too bright, there is no way the Raiders give up Bush for next to nothing when Fargas' days are numbered. The Raiders aren't as stacked as everyone seems to think because Fargas has 1, maybe 2, years left in him.

I wonder if Louis Rankin has anything to do with this situation though. Rankin showed flashes of dynamite at Washington and in the pre-season last year. I really think he has the talent to see playing time but he's behind 3 guys right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see him move up the depth chart should Bush or Fargas be let go.

Call me a dumb ass Raider fan all you want, but I really think Michael Bush is just as good as any of the backs coming out of college this season. I am probably letting the combine affect my opinion on guys like Moreno and Wells, but I don't see how anybody could see those guys as hands down better than Bush - who looked just as good as all of them while at Louisville (when he was healthy).

And let's not underestimate or undervalue the combination of a guy like Bush with Darren McFadden. Hopefully the Raiders know what these two are capable of, we're talking about the HB position being set in stone for the next 5-10 seasons with these two in the backfield.

Bush needs to find some, any way out of Oakland, where they're trying to turn him into a fullback. The Bucs would likely give him a chance to compete for substantial early-down carries. Tampa Bay is also installing a zone-blocking scheme, which Bush became familiar with as a Raider.

Why does everyone at VSN think their teams are gonna get 2nd round picks in any trade scenario they come up with?

Bush is gonna be a good back, and the Raiders should keep him IMO. But he does have more trade value than Fargas. I could see getting a 4th for him, maaaaybe 3rd, but in a league where Randy Moss goes for a 4th rounder, you're gonna be hard pressed to get a first-day pick in a trade.

I understand what you're saying, but the point here is that the Raiders don't need to give Bush up for a 3rd rounder. They aren't hard pressed to get rid of Bush like they were Moss. They aren't trying to get rid of Bush just for the sake of getting rid of him, they are only going to get rid of him if they get the better end of the deal, which is why I don't think he's going to go for a 3rd rounder.

Moss was an entirely different situation and a mistake that the Raiders organization surely does not want to make again.

Moss was a whole different situation the Raiders were going to get rid of Moss and everyone knew thats why he was for low value

I don't either, but that doesn't mean the Raiders shouldn't see if there are any takers or any teams interested.

Difference between checking the waters, and expecting teams to trade a 2nd Rounder for a guy who the Raiders buried on their depth chart after 3 weeks and until the last game of the season.

Seeings how that patriots only got a 2nd rounder for Cassel I wouldnt expect anyone to give up more than a 3rd rounder. Especially since a QB is a lot more valuable than a RB and more teams are going to the multiple back offense and I dont think a team would give up a second round pick for that.

Yeah but the Raiders don't have Adrian Peterson as well. And they didn't franchise Bush to be their back up. Two totally different situations.

Which hurts their trade ability even more. They buried Bush on the depth chart, even after he had a good start to the season. He's considered the 3rd back on their roster. No one is worried about jacking the price up.

the patriots didnt sell out to quickly. The trade puts them about 30 million under the cap with free agency just beginning. Now I dont see a point to the raiders trading Bush but it is Al Davis so you never no.

I think Bush can be a good back but he hasn't done anything to prove it yet. 1 game does not equal a 2nd round pick. Sure you can ask for it but I'd consider it a mistake for anybody to give up that high of a draft pick for somebody who has had 1 great game.

You have yet to learn. The first trade made is usually what the rest of the trades for that off-season are based off of. Same goes with contracts for rookies and free agents.
