lol. The same dude's slurpin his shit hate him now. That is the hip-hop cycle. Can't wait to see you dudes bounce on "Tyler the Creator" when they sell out as well.
50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Wiz, etc. Cycle much?
That's the hip-hop cycle because a lot of artists sell out and don't care about the quality of their music, as long as they're appealing to the mainstream.
Try listening how his sound "evolved" since his first street album, Show & Prove, to now. It's awful. He's went from a lyrical guy, to a Lil' Wayne wannabe, to a Curren$y wannabe, to a wannabe trap rapper on his last mixtape, to now this pop star who started his album by saying: "And they say all I rap about is bitches and champagne, you would too if every night you'd seen the same thing." And then he did exactly that, but seriously how boring does that get when you sit down and listen to the album? What just disappoints the hell out of me is that he had the talent to be a pretty good rapper (not from a mainstream standpoint though), and he has turned into this. I don't blame people for bashing him - he deserves it - because he can put out a lot better shit than what he's releasing now.
50 was the same way. His first album was a classic, but ever since then his subject matter, the production he was getting and overall rapping just declined throughout the next three albums. Was he a bad rapper still? No, he still had the talent he had in GRODT. But lately, he's just released like 15 random tracks and they've all been great; maybe not up to GRODT material, but pretty close. I'm honestly excited for 50's next album because he has proved me wrong when I thought he was done.
Lil' Wayne is also a similar case. I know a lot of people hate him for him pushing that "Best Rapper Alive" persona when he doesn't necessarily have the best lyrics, but he's extremely talented and is very good when he's focused. Tha Carter III suffered from leaks by some random DJ and he pretty much fucked up the album. That led to the actual physical copy being one of the most inconsistent albums I've heard in quite some time, which is where the hatred towards him has come from. Then he started experimenting heavy with auto-tune and other shit, which decreased the quality of his music once again. However, since jail, most of what I've heard of him has been great, which has me excited for Tha Carter IV.
So to sum it up, the rappers you mentioned have "sold out" or whatever at one point and they deserve to be "hated" (can't think of a better word at this moment), because they aren't living up to their potential. However, if Wiz can do what 50 and Wayne are doing and get back to his old styles, then I can easily see people here back on his wagon. Hell, I'll even be the first person to do so.
e: And yes, the album is that bad. I don't even think the stoners can smoke to this.
