Lol... explanation? I've never had an issue with wifi on my PS3... and at a price of $100 for a Xbox adapter, it's a pretty nice feature to be included at no extra charge.

Leaffan, this is the only post you need to take note of. If you're saying a wireless connection for gaming is a bad idea, fine. I can appreciate that. But when you say the wi-fi in the PS3 is garbage that's just dead wrong. The point that some of us are trying to make here is that it's fucking FREE and included in the PS3. If that is your only option it's a HUGE bonus over the 360 that forces you to pay $100 for a small piece of plastic.

The wifi in it sucks. Period. Unless they have improved it over time it just sucks. Its slow when trying to stream things, it lags on PSN (although that could be PSN) and it lags in games sometimes. This has happened to me on many occasions with different setups. Have I had it work with no problems before? Of course but overall if I am looking at doing something with a PS3 there is generally a reason why they are asking me of all people to do it.

I'm just pointing out a view here. You guys just want to jump all over me for pointing something out. I don't really know why but whatever.

BTW now futureshop is having a customer appreciation sale and I'm pretty sure the PS3 is part of it.

You said it was slow. I haven't noticed it but I don't stream shit either. As far as downloads go I would definitely say the slowness is from they way Sony has PSN set up with the store because it uses the same wireless technology that the 360 wireless adapter does.

This whole thread is about whether or not someone should buy a PS3 and whether it's worth it or a better buy than the 360. Built-in wireless is a huge bonus.

Considering the original price though, the "built in" thing isn't really a plus because you just paid for it without a choice. I atleast saved myself $100 by not getting wifi for my 360. Just saying is all. You did end up paying for it. Only now is it worth something with the price drop.

That's just it. It was worth it to me, even back when the PS3 was $600 (launch)and the 360 was $400 (launch), hell let's just play fantasy land and say the 360 was $300 when the PS3 was still $500...
For $500 I got a gaming console, bluray, free online, built in wi-fi, a much bigger hard drive (60GB compared to 20GB-which was really only a pathetic 13GB on the 360) and hell, even an internet browser.
To get the same stuff with the 360 I bought a HD-DVD (at that time $200), wireless adapter and Xbox Live service. Assuming the 360 was only $300, the grand total $650. And the MOTHERFUCKER BREAKS ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

And we're not even factoring in the stupid play and charge kit that I don't even use anymore because the batteries stopped accepting a charge.

Even back then it was a GREAT deal. Now at $299 it's a fucking steal.

Microsoft DOES and always has included an HD cable with the Xbox 360.
