What's so hard to fucking understand? Let me break it down for you guys.

Why is it that everyone seems to think that it is commonplace to have a "backup" 360? How did it ever get to that? I mean, have you fucking ever heard of needing a backup console in the history of gaming? Hell, have you ever heard of needing a backup anything as far as electronics is concerned? But yet somehow, through M$'s marketing and they way they price repairs and cheap consoles (arcade) and how they completrely overprice peripherals (hard drives, wireless adapters0 people just say "Oh fuck it. I'll just buy another one." Whether it's because their shitty small hard drive isn't enough or they just want a backup because their console is bound to fail at some point.

I just don't get it how this has become the status quo?

I'm definitely one of the biggest haters of M$ right now. Not only is their console consistently a piece of shit but their marketing strategies can choke on my dick.

How many? Let's see. We have two 360's in the house (one is mine and the other is my wife's). I'm on my FIFTH and she's on her THIRD. And you better believe that I will NEVER buy a replacement 360. If either of these ever goes out of warranty and needs a repair then it's going in the dumpster. But at the rate it's going I'll be getting a "replacement" every year or so so the three year warranty should never expire. Fucking piece of shit.

Besides that I think the only other MS product I own is any software that cam pre-installed on this computer. Did I actively go out and buy it? Fuck no. And I sure as shit don't want some Mac that seems to be nearly incompatible with everything so it's not like there are too many options.

But yeah, to answer your question Dave, go ahead and buy it. I can't wait to see your "my special edition 360 just died" thread in a couple months.

Did I mention that I was trying to play some more Borderlands with my cousin last night and he got the RROD? His 360 is only a year old. But I'm SURE the new Jasper chipset, or the new Valhalla chipset (on the horizon) will solve ALL the issues. LMAO.

Why I bought Borderlands on 360 is beyond me. I alos found it hilarios that even at this date and time when he dropped his 360 off at UPS, in his own box mind you because they don't supply them anymore, the clerk said "360, huh?" Unreal.

i think you take the term backup to literally. although dave refers to it in the same way you described it, alot of people just want the newer system and then keep the old on as a backup.

its sad they need a backup....but it doesnt mean people are brainwashed by anything. they just want the new system and now have that added security just in case.

No offense to you Dave. I'm just saying it's bound to happen. I don't want see you you wasting your money just to have a "back up" console. I would tell you to just swap out hard drives but we all know you can't do that so instead your only choices are to buy some completely over priced M$ hard drive or buy a whole new console, which is exactly what they want you to do. They give you as little in the way of options as possible.

Your best option would be to buy a console with a bigger HDD (possibly the MW2 bundle), transfer your saves and then sell your current 13GB model, err I mean 20GB. Nope, actually I was right the first time.

Of course you probably have loads of cash. Weren't you the one that paid to unlock shit in Tiger Woods?:yahootongue:

i love my 360.....im not a huge fan of the ps3.....not because its a lesser system, but because it doesnt offer me personally the value i want from my gaming system. What is value to me? friends to play online with, overall design of the dashboard, chat options and the "flash" (for lack of a better term) and excitement the system offers in its delivery in the dashboard.

there is nothing wrong with the ps3. I dont hate it in any way. I just get more out of my 360.

I don't think it's a god send by any means. It has plenty of flaws. But it's still superior to the 360 in nearly every way.

I can see your reasoning for value, but for the most part the PS3 blows the 360 out of the water on value alone. The fact that the Elite 360 is the same price as the PS3 is laughable.

i agree. Its got everything the elite has, plus blu ray. its a way better package. If i didnt have the 360 for a year longer, then i would be all about the ps3.

Free wireless, free online, the ability to use USB drives for pretty much everything, Blu-Ray (a biggie for me) and a bigger hard drive (120 vs. 20).
