No, I don't have to respect the decision, and neither do the voters. It doesn't matter to me if his name was cleared, because his father being mixed up in it is the same as Newton being mixed up in it. Even if Cam was ignorant to his fathers actions, he still needs to be held accountable. Since when is ignorance an excuse? Iif Cam Newton was a third string OL for Kent St (or the best WR in the country playing for ...oh, I don't know, Oklahoma St or something), he'd be banned. So please, enough with the shady NCAA double standards as the basis of the argument.

Not to mention the ongoing FBI investigation into Auburn athletics. His name wasn't cleared, the NCAA chose not to punish him yet based on the limited evidence they have gathered.

I don't really take issue with what he does in the stands, but this part is true. If AJ Green got flagged last year for just raising his arms to the crowd ("drawing attention to oneself" is what the rule says), then I'm amazed he hasn't gotten flagged at least once.

But as for you first point ... contrary to popular opinion, not every program in the NCAA cheats. Not even in the SEC. There are plenty of clean programs, including Mississippi State. Being a clean program cost them Cameron Newton.

Auburn is a repeat offender and has a long history of paying players and academic corruption. Google Pat Dye if you'd like, or just take my word for it. No it means the NCAA should actively try to solve these problems. They need to do something about these programs, boosters, agents and whoever else is guilty of paying players or breaking/bending the rules to gain an advantage. Also either force these kids to be actual student/athletes or stop just pretending they are. But since it looks like they don't care about doing these things and are content with all the shady things that go down...why should I care?

The way things are right now is a joke. I'm really supposed to be mad that Cam is getting paid, or that he cheated on an essay two schools ago knowing full well this kind of thing is likely going down at any major program? When I know that my own school isn't completely innocent? I guess it's better to just pretend everything is on the up and up, then get outraged when yet another scandal breaks out.

I agree that that is retarded, but the NFL is supposedly going to work with them to help punish the individual offenders too. Who knows if Rulebook Rodge actually follows through with it though. I'm sure it'll get tabled in favor of adding 8 more games to the schedule and adding 4 teams in Europe.
