Sleeping Dogs players with a Just Cause 2 game save on their hard drive will find the duds of Just Cause's Rico "King of Chaos" Rodriguez in the closet of Sleeping Dogs protagonist Wei Shen. Wonder how that happened? Slashfic incoming!

Wearing the clothes of Just Cause's Rodriguez will give Shen a boost to his hijack ability and allow him to "perform stunt-style takeovers of enemy vehicles from an even greater distance." The no-cost bonus will be available at launch on August 14 across all formats.

Giant Bomb Quick Look:

It looks awesome, except for the glitch around the 4:50 mark. But I guess that is to be expected in these open world games.
 
Lately I've been looking at this game but it's still up in the air for me. I'm also looking at Darksiders 2 but I'll wait for a sale, hopefully after its been out for a month or two. Only game I know I'm getting Day 1 is NHL 13.

edit: Decided to preorder the game from Newegg....$48 seems like a good deal for new game.

It would be really nice if Amazon would ship it today so it can arrive by Tuesday but I know that won't happen.

Square Enix isn't being coy about its download content strategy for Sleeping Dogs. The publisher said today there will be new DLC for the game for the next 6 months after the game releases.

There are no specific details on what all the content will be, but the announcement suggests we'll see cars, outfits, and "game-extending" mission packs. Square Enix also has launch-day content, the Retro Triad Pack, which includes a "killer old school outfit" with its own player buffs and a "kung-fu van."

Two additional content packs planned from September are a Racing and SWAT Pack. Sleeping Dogs releases tomorrow in North America for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

I might just pick up a copy from Walmart in the morning and return my Amazon copy when I get it. They should be the same, right? The bonuses are via download code from e-mail I believe.

I still have to finish Arkham City though.
