I understand winning at Porto and the undefeated season were huge accomplishments, but Lennon has a proven track record of finding value in obscure players and having successful runs in Europe.

I don't see why he'd be compelled to stay with the Hoops over a mid-table EPL team at this point either. When Forster bounces for Man U in January, this team is going to be hard pressed to even qualify for the CL group stage in 2014.

AVB has a European Trophy in his cabinet as well.

Lennon has been extremely lucky that his biggest rivals were fucked in the ass and sent packing to the backwaters of Scotland. I'm sure he'll get his shot at a mid table club in England at some point. He's just more a man manager than a tactician, and man managers tend to only be able to take their clubs so far. Martin O'Neill anyone?

Which I think makes it more impressive he was able to push last year's squad to the round of 16 despite playing garbage in league. He's done a great job of getting guys to improve and Celtic have been able to keep their books in the black because of it.

I agree with what Anthony said about there Lennon leaving something to be desired from a tactical standpoint though.

It's a tournament though. Plenty of small teams fluke through and make it to the last 16. I mean we are only a year removed from Basel going through at United's expense and APOEL winning their group. No one is going to call for their managers to lead top clubs

No it's not, it makes it less impressive.

Much easier to progress through to the second round of the Champions League when you can rest the big guns and cruise through the league in 3rd gear.

I don't see why he'd be compelled to stay with the Hoops over a mid-table EPL team at this point either. When Forster bounces for Man U in January, this team is going to be hard pressed to even qualify for the CL group stage in 2014.

Forster is trying to dislodge Hart and make the World Cup squad for England, why would he go to Utd to sit on the bench for the most important six months of the season?

And Lennon will be compelled to stay because he's guaranteed a league title (which mean he' guaranteed to coach in the Champions League every year) and should easily be winning one of the domestic cups alongside it each season. Much better than going to Cardiff or Fulham and getting sacked after 8 months when Citeh put 7 past you and getting knocked out by Brighton in the 3rd round of the League Cup.

Forster has been flirting with an EPL move since the summer, and Moyes is supposedly a fan of his.

I think Forster understands that facing one or two shots a game in the SPFL is never going to be enough to overtake Hart, and with one year left on the contract the Hoops don't want to let him walk away for nothing in 2015.
