Klopp won't happen, he's really tied to Dortmund. Would be a huge get though if he did take over.

I REALLY think United will go hard after Simeone, but again I think he's wanting to stay at Athletico a bit longer. Van Gaal sure... but if United were smart and lets hope they're not... Frank de Boer or Roberto Martinez are brought in. I just think it's time for United to do what Liverpool did and bring in a younger guy who they stick with. Otherwise if they go after someone like Van Gaal, they'll just be looking for another manager in a few years.

Bring in LVG, and he realistically won't be at United for more than 2-4 years. Everything is so upside down now, him coming in and holding things down for that time period until one of the better longer term guys come available.

True, but I think that Liverpool have very quickly become the gold standard, and with that the anomaly as well. In modern football, SAF and and AV are pure flukes. It looks like it's Liverpool's title to lose, and that will instantly give Rodgers another 10 years.

The main focus last time was stability. That got them shit and some plan that kept being brought up. For me this time around, I'll take winning, with a proven winner in multiple leagues and the biggest teams in the world to make sure a season like this never happens again.

Tons of the blame for this too goes on SAF, his decisions and his ego got in the way and it cost this team. Now the board will, and should do whatever they want how they want.

I think BR wants to be a legend at Liverpool. The players all seem to love him too, I don't think he'd leave.

Rodgers definitely seems like a good one and he seems a good fit at Liverpool, but I don't know if it's a world where any coach is guaranteed a 5+ year tenure

I think Arsenal have underachieved and Liverpool kind of support that point. However, I don't think Arsene's Top 4 streak is anything to sneeze at. That kind of consistency is tough and will get harder if money keeps coming in to England. Even then there is a large contingent who want his head

You have to realize that Liverpool is a different club from any other club.

Does Rodgers understand the Liverpool way? Yes.
Does Rodgers respect the history of the club? Yes.
Does Rodgers understand the community? Yes.
Does Rodgers have the desire to defend the club against all odds? Yes.

That combined with a league title would assure that he gets just about as long he wants. Prior to the Owl Face fiasco, Liverpool supporters were a club that stood by their managers as long as they recognized that LFC is more than just a football club.

FSG aren't stupid, if he wins us the league that's instant legend status. Unless things go horrifically off the rails he will have the job for life or however long he pleases. The backlash would be immense, fans wouldn't stand for it. The guy will be going nowhere anytime soon if he/when he pulls this off and I'm not even a staunch Rodgers guy, don't get me wrong I've warmed to him immensely but I'm still wounded from Kenny :ronaldo:

The backlash towards the owners who saved the club from near administration and righted the ship? The same owners who basically threw up the middle finger to Suarez when he said he wanted out? John Henry is a gangster. If we win the league, I think it buys BR at least 2-3 years. However, hypothetically 3 years from now if we've finished 7th or something twice in a row, BR would be gone.

All this said, I hope BR reigns for 50 years and we're only disappointed by seasons where we dont win both the league and Champions League. I really don't know why we are even discussing this too.
