I think you're vastly underestimating how much winning this title means to the fanbase and how much goodwill it's gonna buy him, winning us number 19 buys him a helluva lot more time than 2-3 years. The Red Sox or even any American franchise and our club are a completely different kettle of fish and I think FSG have owned us long enough now to realize this, sacking Rodgers anytime soon even after an off season or 2 is not gonna fly not that I can see that hypothetical arising tbh. But yes I agree this is all silly discussion :rambo:
 
Why are we talking about sacking one of the brightest minds in world football? BR is leading the charge in terms of an English tactical revolution. Fifteen years behind the rest of Europe right enough.
 
Having said that you Anfield homers are showing ridiculous sentimentality. More than a club? What the hell does that even mean? Winning the league might give Rodgers legendary status but these "special Anfield fans" will only want more thereafter. Liverpool have to mount a title challenge every year now, and trophies will be a requirement.

Well played to Chelsea, but you have to laugh at Jose talking about clubs taking football into the dark ages and then doing the exact same thing. I'm upset we lost but not disheartened. It's been a magnificent season for us, we're in the Champions League, and we're in the ascendency. What ever happens this season happens. I honestly thought I would've been crushed after the defeat, but I wasn't surprisingly.

A big fuck off goes to Tony Cascarino this morning for suggesting that Rodgers was naive to try and play for the win... at home. Right, Liverpool should've merely been content passing the ball back and forth about 40 yards out from goal and wasting everyone's time.
