Shouldn't even be a contest here. The university of Miami, 2001, was arguably the best college football team in decades, let alone the 2000's.

Miami was the "team" of the first three years of the 2000's...a ridiculous collection of talent.

However, the past decade has been a load of shit.

A team that is missing from the list is Texas. USC needs to come off the list.

I voted for Miami, because when I think of that decade those loaded early 2000s teams are what I think of first. But the program was average, at best, for the latter half of the decade. If we're judging by consistent success and/or championships, it has to be Florida or LSU imo. But for memorable talent alone, I picked Miami.

True, probably could have added Texas but then Ohio State would probably warrant inclusion as well. Of the teams with one title (Oklahoma, Texas, USC) in that decade I figured USC would probably be the consensus "best" out of that group.

I went with LSU because IMO they were the most consistently good team throughout the entire decade. That's who I pick for best program throughout the 2000s. If we are talking best single season team from the 2000s, well, then it's those 2001 Miami Hurricanes.

Maybe. I don't think they thought they were voting for the "01 Canes" though, because that was not a poll option. If they (or you) can't get the abstract concept behind "team of the decade" then I don't know what to say.

I can't account for differing opinions. Some people like peak performance over consistency. Those same kind of people voted Reggie Bush for one 1800 yard season instead of a guy who had three 1500 yard seasons and two 1800s.

By your theory, Cam Newton was better than McFadden.

Played in the SEC, had no talent around him, team was a 6 win team without him. Not to mention highest passer rating in NCAA history.

But that's not my theory. I have no theory. I just believe McFadden was better than Bush and backed it with facts which I felt supported my argument.

However, they only had 1 title and 1 runner-up finish.
