LeSean McCoy is talented enough to take over Philadelphia's running back job.

Philadelphia's veteran running back Brian Westbrook sustained a fractured elbow in the Eagles' week two matchup against the New York Jets and will be forced to miss the remainder of the season.

However, this may not be a negative thing for the 2-0 Eagles. Third-year halfback LeSean McCoy will be taking over for the injured Westbrook. McCoy was in a similar situation in his rookie season, when the Eagles won the Super Bowl with him as their back.

McCoy possesses a skill set identical to that of Westbrook's, and his young legs make him one of the most explosive players in the league.

While Westbrook's injury hurts Philadelphia's chances at another run for the title, it also sets them up to be successful for years to come if McCoy can excel.

McCoy will see his first action as a starting running back this season in Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.​

Michael Turner led the entire NFL in rushing yards last season.

The 0-2 Atlanta Falcons will be traveling to Philadelphia to face off against the 2-0 Eagles on retro night. The Eagles will be wearing their yellow jerseys from the 1930s and the Falcons will be sporting the all black uniforms from the 1960s.

The Falcons come with the NFL's best rushing attack, with the league's leading runner Michael Turner at halfback. The Eagles, however, lost their starting running back Brian Westbrook due to a season-ending elbow fracture against the New York Jets last week. LeSean McCoy will be taking over the run game, and most experts think he will do just fine against the mediocre Falcons defense.

This game could come down to which team has the better passing attack, the Eagles with Donovan McNabb and the Falcons with Matt Ryan. Whoever moves the ball more effectively through the air than the opponent should come away with a win.​

Recap:

The undefeated Philadelphia Eagles played host to the winless Atlanta Falcons on retro night.

The Eagles, without starting running back Brian Westbrook, had third-year back LeSean McCoy taking carries, and McCoy dominated. The game was a true battle on the ground between McCoy and Falcons' halfback Michael Turner, who was the league's leading rusher the season before.

The game eventually went in to overtime, where rookie kicker Oscar Araujo nailed a 44-yarder to win the game for the Falcons. The Eagles' next game will be across the country in San Francisco where they will face off against the 1-2 49ers.

Frank Gore is one of the NFL's most dominant running backs.

The Philadelphia Eagles, 2-1 on the season, will be traveling across the country to California to face off against the 1-2 San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers are very talented on offense, with the exception of quarterback. Texas Tech alumn Graham Harrell will be playing behind center, and the Eagles defense should be able to force him to throw an interception or two.

If LeSean McCoy can play like he did against the Falcons, the Eagles should have a relatively easy time against the Niners, despite coming off of a loss.​

Recap:

The 1-2 San Francisco 49ers hosted the 2-1 Philadelphia Eagles in what turned in to a much closer game than what most expected.

Both Niners quarterback Graham Harrell and Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb made unwise decisions throughout the game, throwing seven interceptions between eachother. Both teams' running game carried their squads, as Frank Gore and LeSean McCoy both ran for over 100 yards.
