But if Scuderi had magically jetted around the net, then, as I said before, Bernier would have had no chance to hit Scuderi because Bernier was so far behind the play and taking a terrible angle. Bernier never would have had a chance to "lay a big hit on the forecheck" if Scuderi had done what you wanted him to. So the Bernier wasn't really "forfeiting" anything, because he never was in a position to lay a big hit to begin with. The only way for Bernier to have landed a big hit was if Scuderi slowed down for Bernier to catch up to him, and thats what happened.
I typically don't understand the logic in this forum, and this is just another case. Bernier is forfeiting his chance for a big hit which could have only been made illegally. Got it.
