Champions and big stars do get more benefit of the doubt, of course. And actually, they should, but I won get into that.

But the idea Dana White hs any control over these refs or judges is ridiculous, and not even worthy of debate. These guys dont are what Dana has to say, he rips Steve Mazzagati to shreds all the time and Mazzagati tells people he could give two shits and just does his job.

Daley was done, finished, and loppy as fuck. He didn't "deserve" anthing, he was out. And this is coming from a guy who HATES Diaz and roots hard against him.

Just stop.

So, 2 things. 1 you don't want this to be a fair sport since everyone shouldn't get the same treatment?
2. You don't think there's any pressure on a ref for calling someone like Brock out too early vs no pressure at all if it's someone like Daley? It's all the same?

He stopped the fight because he felt Daley wasn't intelligently defending himself.

Any other factors people may throw into the equation don't matter.

1. Its no different than Pujols getting a tighter strike zone, Kobe getting calls, or any other star treatment. Stars get the benefit of the doubt, and yes, in fighting I don' reallyt have a problem with it. That's just the way it is.

I didn't say and definitely don't think Dana has anyone in his pockets. Like I said he doesn't need to approach any of the refs directly, the fear of them getting slammed in the media is enough for Dana to indirectly influence their decisions.

There's a reason why coaches and players get fined in the NBA for slamming the refs.

I see what you are saying, but I think these refs (and judges) really dont care about Dana White.

Stars and champions are going to be treated differently than some bum on the prelims, and I have no issue with that. I expect champions to get the razor thin rounds and get the benefit of the doubt on tko's. They earned it.

I mainly posted it for his thoughts about the fight in general. I was pretty surprised at how cool he was about everything. But yea he brings up a good point about the stoppage too, pretty much the same thing Rob was saying. 3 seconds left in the round the fans and Daley deserved a 2nd round. Daley wasn't knocked out at any point, dazed, but not out.

It's not the refs job to consider how much time is in the round and whether they deserve a second.

Besides, once Daley couldn't stand up and get on his stool on his own power, the fight would have been stopped anyway.

I couldnt disagree more. The ref should definitely take that into consideration, and definitely has in the past, especially when dealing with ground and pound or subs.

I smoke a lot of weed, a lot of these fights end up a blur to me months later. But I can remember instances in which a ref didnt end on a sub because there was little time left, and many times when a guy was getting beat down but the ref would give lee-way until the end of the round.

Pretty sure it happened in Nog/Couture, maybe twice.

I have zero issues with the card.

Jardine/Mousasi was a draw. Mousasi looking unimpressive and incapable of stopping half assed takedowns from a guy bordering on passing out from exhaustion. No idea how that could happen after what Mo did to him. Too passive and cant stop a takedown. Guy has alot of work to do.

Daley/Diaz- Hell of a fight. I agree with the stoppage. Diaz was dropped earlier but immediately showed signs of knowing what he was doing with his crazy head movement on the ground. Daley was out of it. Stood there with arms open with Diaz popping him several times having a Forrest Griffin like reaction to it.
Diaz hell of a chin and great composure.
