Reviews are shocking for basically a tiny (3-5 man company in Canada). The game is a blast to play. Pitching 'system' is one of the best I have seen. In this sim/arcade game the breaking pitches have a huge break which is nice.

This game has been on my radar for a bit. I actually enjoy the recent RBI but it SUCKS that it doesn't keep stats. Does this game have stat tracking for Season Mode?

I have one more question. I keep reading about auto-fielding. That is a huge turnoff for me. Is there no way to disable that?

I've also read on the game's forums that people are struggling with the base running controls. I don't know why they couldn't have just went the RBI route and use one button to run and one button to retreat and you control whatever runner you're pointing your left stick towards? Oh well.

The higher your 'rating', the less you are assisted, however manually controlling your outfielders gets you there faster which is a big help and of course you have to control all the throws including a nicely done, cutoff throw and relay. You also control dives and jumps.

Yep, currently my favorite game. Excellent simulation game in a very fun environment. Tweak your players to your liking and start a season. It's a blast.

I'm still trying to get a handle on the base running. I just wish they had a simple system like pressing X and up on the d-pad makes the runner on first go to second. I've been just using L1 and R1 to advance/return ALL the runners. That works in most cases but not all obviously. I also wish there was some kind of instant replay option.

I do think the description of the teams is very misleading. I chose the Overdogs in a short season because I liked their logo and they are supposed to have a lot of speed. Yet somehow I don't think a single player on their team has a speed rating over 50 and I've yet to be able to steal a single base, even when the pitcher throws something offspeed. It kind of defeats the purpose of picking any team besides one of the power teams like the Sirloins.

I've played 8 games at Ego 40 and I'm 7-1. I just turned the Ego up to 50 to see how that goes.

I heard the Press Row podcast guys talking about this game a lot and want to give it a try. Sounds like pretty much everyone that tried it thought it was solid.

How old is your son? It's very easy to pick up and play for sure and you can adjust the difficulty by raising or lowering the "ego" rating. It goes from 1-99 and I think it starts as 15 as the default. I'm playing on 50 right now.

It's a blast.

I just finished my first Short Season (16 games) last night with a record of 12-4. I won the division by 2 games. I bumped the difficulty back down to Ego 45 because I lost two really close games in a row that I thought were both bullshit.

I'm really looking forward to starting the playoffs today.

Completed 2 seasons and started a 3rd (ego @ 55). It's fun starting with a new team, modifying the team to your liking (I mod all females to male, edit several names to my liking, make all players look more life like). The games are competitive and intense.

I'd really just like to know who came up with the team "strengths". The Sirloins, Mosse and at least one other team are considered "Power Hitting" teams. They have several big sluggers and I get that. But I've been using the Overdogs and they are described as "Very Fast" but there isn't a player on the whole damn team that seems to have a speed rating better than maybe 60%? In my 16 games I had a total of TWO stolen bases on like ten attempts and I barely got those on slow, offspeed pitches. A team that is described as "Very Fast" should have a pretty easy job swiping bases, just like the teams labeled as "Great Fielders" or "Great Defense" should make very few errors and have really good throwing arms.

Stealing is tough unless you get an off speed pitch. I think they will tweak this some with the patch they are working on. I think speed teams get their advantage on getting to the balls hit in the gaps.
