The Phillies still have the best lineup in the NL, and their rotation is much better than you think. I predict that Hamels bounces back this year and that one-two punch of Halladay (why is it that seemingly no one can spell the best pitcher in MLB's name outside of Blue Jay and Phillie fans?) and Hamels will be fierce.

Their bullpen is suspect, definitely. But that has been the case the last 3 years and they've still managed to win the NL East, two pennants, and a World Series.

Their bullpen performed better than anyone expected in '08. It was still suspect going into the season, just like it is this season, is my point.

As a huge M's fan I have a really bad feeling they will be lucky to finish around .500. Lee and Hernandez will keep the team decent but the offense is still MIA. Yes Figgins and Bradley are decent additions but our main HR (Branyan) threat isn't coming back. Griffey might add some pop seeing as how he is healthier than last year but I'm very very skeptical about us being a playoff team. If we do make it to the playoffs though, look out. Branyan aside, he got off to a hot start and I believe he cooled down as the year wore on. He has back issues and I think he can be replaced...not necessarily by Bradley because he's a damn mess...but I think you can overcome that. Besides the M's weren't a HR hitting team...speed and defense carried them, as well as solid pitching. That has to continue.
 
Orioles always start off strong and then quickly turn to shit. So don't buy into it if we win 15 of our first 20 games and then lose more then 80% of the rest.

lol I've been saying this.

The rotation I feel is in better shape than the pen. Halladay is going to give the pen off in at least half of his starts pretty much. Blanton has been solid since coming over (and improving). I really like Happ. Hamels you have questions with but even if he's last year's Hamels, that's still a ML quality 4th starter. Moyer is a ? but you still have guys like Bastardo they seem to like and another guy i'm slipping that's close to contributing.

The pen, again, gotta wonder. Lidge coming off a bad season, Baez, who isn't closer material and Madson isn't a closer. Be interesting to see how that turns out.
 
My Mariners are looking sick this offseason

The White Sox are looking good, I think they might take the AL Central. And the Nats got something brewing too, they probably wont win their division this year but i'm expecting a big improvement

The Twins should be alright this year if there pitchers can stay healthy. The young guys should only get better with experience.

I totally agree, I laugh at how confident SOME Philly fans are with the Mets and Marlins in the division and hell like I've been saying Braves aren't a push over either! the NLE is a very competitive division.

Yes, the Phillies have a GREAT lineup no argument there, but that doesn't make 'em a shoe in for another NLE title. I don't think Hamels and Blanton are as good as you think they are.

I think the Phillies will win the division, but it's going to be similar to last year and come down to the last month. No way Philly just turns into the Yankees and become world beaters in '10. They are a solid team but they aren't great.
 
Don't sleep on the Orioles. They've got so much young talent it's pretty crazy.

Brian Matusz and Chris Tillman should be huge for them once they get fully adjusted to the big leagues. I really like Brad Bergeson as well. I really like the way their rotation is shaping up.

Also you've got Jones, Markakis, Roberts, and Wieters to bolster the lineup, and with the acquisitions of Atkins and Tejada they've got so much depth.

They obviously won't be able to compete with the Yanks or Sox in the AL East but I have a feeling they'll be noticed this year.
