James Bond 007: Blood Stone​


Just finished this game up this evening. I picked it up during the 2nd blowout sale that Best Buy had for $10. The story isn't bad at all. You're trying to stop people who have biochemical weapons. However, I did think that the weapons they had (smallpox and anthrax) was kind of lame. Make it some nuclear weapons or some shit, or even make up a new deadly virus. But it's your typical story, where there's always someone higher up who's calling the shots than you originally thought.

Some of the firefights seemed too drawn out. There were plenty of them where you'd kill everyone, then you'd get up take a few steps towards the exit and BAM, in comes another wave. That just seemed dumb to me. The normal techy type stuff that Bond always has was cool, like his phone. The car chases were a great thing to throw into this game. Breaks up the shooting and all that shit, and they threw in 4 of them. Although I think they're bastards for flaunting that Koenigsegg in front of me all damn game, and I don't even get to drive it lol. But major props for throwing those chases in. The platforming that they had left a lot to be desired. I didn't think it was done very well. It was just, hey, stand still at this ledge and press 'B' and jump 10 feet across. I just think that could have been done better.

Overall it wasn't bad. The game was short as fuck, which definitely counts against it. It was just a hair over 6 hours. But I'm a big Bond fan, so I still enjoyed the game, especially for only $10. If you can find it on sale again like I did, it's worth a play. I will say that I definitely prefer the Quantum of Solace game to this one though (still haven't played much of Goldeneye Reloaded).

Not sure what to play now. I know I said Crysis 2, but I'm also still in the James Bond mood, which is pushing me towards Goldeneye Reloaded a little bit. Then I also have Deus Ex, but I'd like to bust through some of these other ones before I dig into that one.

EDIT: Think I'm going with Goldeneye Reloaded.
 
Dammit. I forgot that you need to get ALL of the objectives to get the mission achievements, not just finishing the mission.
 
Taking a break from Goldeneye Reloaded and going to play some Crysis 2. Goldeneye just gets too frustrating at times when you miss a piece of intel or something and then you can't go back for it and you have to restart the entire mission. Shit gets real annoying. I'll try to finish it up this weekend.
