He already proved he can play, if anybody thinks otherwise, well, I have no time for that discourse because it's ludicrous to think otherwise and we've been there, done that. Nobody wants a superstar third string QB on the roster for obvious reasons (see Jets circus last season). If he's anonymous, with his skill set, he's on a roster with no issue.

He hasn't proven shit. Derek Anderson was a top 10 QB one year. Hundreds of QB's have put together one good season and then fizzled out.

Never understood why people kept trying to say moving him was the right thing to do either..

Outside of the QB position his athleticism is nothing to write home about and he has no experience catching the football, taking a handoff, feeling out blocks along the line, run/pass blocking, tackling, playing in coverage or anything else that a move would require.

If he can't or won't learn everything he needs to know to play QB in the 10 or so years he's been playing the position, then I don't see how he would seamlessly pick up the nuances of another position.

That said, I still think that he could be a reasonable backup for a team where the starter is entrenched. If you throw this kid on a team where there could even be a hint of a QB battle would just be another disaster.

He may have been getting bad advice for so long by now though where he's a lost cause.

Players switch positions all the time in football. Someone intelligent enough to play the QB position should be intelligent enough to play fullback. Quarterbacks have turned into fullbacks (Michael Robinson), wide receivers into fullbacks (Marcel Reece), tight ends into OTackles (Joe Staley), safeties/receivers into linebackers (Brian Urlacher), etc., etc.

Tebow's biggest asset is his toughness and leadership. I have little doubt that he could be a great fullback if he wanted to.

How many teams even use a fullback these days?

I'd much rather convert a college TE that has more athletic ability, some experience running a route, pass blocking and catching the ball before I would even think about welcoming the Tebow circus to my backfield.

I also think the Tebow circus would eventually fizzle out after his first season at fullback. It would get old pretty quickly. It'd be a pretty boring story by year 2 to be honest.

the fact is you don't have to know a lot. You get those jobs-so called by having the most money and abusing it. It must be obvious that 20 teams owners don't know crap because they hardly have consistent success. While others constantly cycle and regroup

I agree with FT and Omar. He had a great run, but there were unique circumstances surrounding that success and once teams figured it out he was done. It has been proven that you can win temporarily with a gimmick, but eventually you have to be able to pass the ball at a good efficiency, as this isn't highschool or college football. I don't understand why some are so willing to keep giving this guy chances at QB.

He isn't a starting QB and the fandom and media circus surrounding him prevents him from being the weapon that he should be in certain situations.

I've seen analysis, coaches and former players(who have been involved with the game for literally decades), who have said that the only reason more teams aren't willing to take a chance on Tebow is because of the media circus. Teams lined up to sign Mike Vick despite the media circus, despite being out of the game, despite past questions about his ability to perform at a consistent level, even despite injury concerns because he had talent that could be useful to an NFL team. If no one is willing to sign Tebow, it isn't because of the media circus, isn't because of rust, isn't because of consistency, it is because they don't think he can be useful.

This is a cutthroat league. Teams will do anything if it means winning one more game or making people waste gameplanning time preparing for some bench player. If they aren't even willing to use a roster spot on this guy, it means he isn't useful.

I think the moment he recognizes he's not going to get a chance as a QB and tells teams he'll be whatever the coaching staff asks, that's when teams will check in on him and he could make an NFL roster.
