But that can be argued. One can easily say that you aren't getting the full experience without all the skins. Sure, are skins pretty pointless? Pretty much. But we all know damn well they are included in the actual game and were only "removed", ie LOCKED OUT, so that MS could fill their coffers.

If you don't feel that you're getting the full game without the skins (and I know you aren't saying that, I'm just speaking in generalities here) then don't buy the game. It all just comes back to this sense of entitlement that I don't think a gamer has just for being a fan of the franchise. There are other issues worth talking about more than something you don't need to buy (for example, the naming of the Gears of War Triple Pack -- I know what I'm getting, but that is a tremendously misleading name in the context of the 3rd game coming out). This idea that you buy their games so they shouldn't try to make more money off of you is just unrealistic. And silly in the sense that at the end of the day the final choice is always yours.

If we were talking about real DLC like maps, extra levels, etc and we were saying we should get all that, than yeah, that's entitlement. Weapon skins that are obviously on the disc and just locked out so we have to pay for them? Not even the same thing.

It's not that much different than these deals these developers/publishers make with stores. Only certain stores give you certain characters, again Gears 3 is guilty, when every one of the characters is already in the game and on the disc. You are just getting a code to unlock them. And then down the road you can pay money for them. Bullshit,

We are not going to agree here because you seem to think that just because someone is a hardcore fan and can't resist a bad purchase, they have some sort of argument. End of the day, they are a corporation out to make money. The only way they will learn to stop doing this is if people stop biting on it. In one sense, you argue for that behavior. In the other, you argue as if the average Gears player is too dumb or lacks the self control to not buy this. My argument really is I don't give a fuck about any of it, because you can still get the game and play through the game without it. I'm sorry that some people are borderline infants when it comes to game playing, but that doesn't effect me.

Now, if you needed the skin pack to play the game, I'd be pissed. But you don't.

Game studios need money. Unfortunately, the most egregious studios for this practice seem to be MS and Activision, who already have mega dollars.

However, with the constant closing notifications, I am all for the power of a studio to charge for things that don't affect the gameplay experience but open up another stream of revenue.

I think someone mentioned Valve earlier. Perhaps they aren't familiar with Valve charging for hats/weapons for TF2. Those can all be unlocked via gameplay, but it allows those who are too impatient or untalented to get them right away. Valve allows people to customize, while opening another revenue stream for their company

Has anyone confirmed if you can unlock all the skins through game play? If so and this is basically like paying for cheat codes, ala EA and Tiger Woods, I don't have as much of a problem with it. It's still pretty lame but if you can unlock the content yourself it's not a big deal.

Only 4 or 5 of them are unlockable. The rest are pay-only at the moment.

i heard it is pretty good but gets hard at the end. The platforming is tough because the controls are a bit off. That is what I read.

I can see that after playing the demo. Instead of a double jump to get to high areas, you have to do a slide-into-backflip that can be a pain in the ass in certain situations.

Now, after finding out that the wireless card in the new Xbox blows my asshole and the fact that my controller kept disconnecting for who knows what reason, I have to transfer all my data back to my old 360.

What a pain in the fucking ass.

Hopefully everything transfer back fine and I can just take this hunk of shit back to Best Buy.

Nope, don't really use my PS3 nearly enough for it to be worth it. I'll probably buy it anyways on some drunk impulse at 3 in the morning someday anyways.
