Retailer Sends Copies of Madden Instead of Mass Effect 3. Whoops

Sounds like "some" customers of online retailer Newegg who pre-ordered a copy of Mass Effect 3 didn't get what they paid for. They got a game, delivered on time, only it was...Madden 12.

An email sent by the outlet reads:


We're contacting you today regarding your recent purchase of the Mass Effect 3 Xbox 360 game. It appears there may have been an error when fulfilling and shipping your order. We've received reports that some customers may have received Madden NFL 2012 Xbox 360 instead of the intended product.

To correct this error, a Customer Service Representative will be contacting you at the phone number provided by you within your account to arrange an advanced replacement, if necessary. The Representative will also arrange an RMA with a prepaid return shipping label. So I downloaded Madden 08 for PC out of boredom today.

I like how I knew how to navigate around every menu with no hesitation.

Next Xbox wont have a disc drive?

The next Xbox won't contain a physical disc drive, according to a new report.

A source close to British trade magazine MCV claims that Microsoft revealed this information under what it described as "the strictest NDA" they have ever encountered.

While the console will not contain a disc drive, according to the source, the report suggests it will contain "some sort of interchangeable solid-state card storage, although it is not known whether this will be proprietary or a more standard format such as SD."

MCV is also claiming that a 2013 release window for the hardware has been confirmed.

A move to digital-only distribution would be extremely unconventional for Microsoft; if there is any truth to this report, it would be a major blow for traditional retail. Microsoft has yet to officially deny the story.

In response to the report, Microsoft has said, "We are always thinking about what is next for our platform and how to continue to defy the lifecycle convention. Beyond that we do not comment on rumors or speculation."

I haven't watched the video yet but you get far more outraged about fighting game issues than I ever do. So why is it you try to call me out whenever this stuff surfaces?

He is hispanic so maybe it is you? ;)

Edit: I got a chance to watch it and it's a great rant. I would love to see him interview Seth Killian again, and maybe Brett Elston, and see what their repsonses are.

By the way, that Mega Man character looks ridiculous. He's a fat guy? Really?

I likely won't get the game, but I love the fat Mega Man. It's one of the few creative things that Capcom has done in the last...who knows how long. That and the fact that they'll make fun of their own past missteps is very un-Capcom.

It's pretty sweet for the most part. There will be some real duds for free games, but hey, they're fucking free (for example, I have every Spyro game but highly doubt I will EVER touch them). I did pick up Resident Evil 1-3 for free at one point and that was pretty sweet.

I'm also in the process of playing through Mass Effect.

I bought it on the cheap from a local video store when they closed down a while ago, played a few hours in, then got distracted by some other games and never got back into it until now. Great game.
 
All ready to star mass effect 2 and the disc is unreadable....FU Gamestop!!

In other news The Show is pure awesomeness. Swinging at alot of shit but will adapt...lost 3-2 to the royals. :(
