Another run of a lifetime is in my midst.

I get to 4-3 with a Cape, Climbing Gloves, Compass, Parachute, X-Ray Specs and a jar of Spider Glue.

Bombs and Ropes for days.

Not a single Shopkeeper is angry with me.

I'm murdered 5 Mummies, killed Anubis and even came upon a Mattock on the way into the level.

I'm GOLDEN.

...then I'm placed in a level with 3 lava pits, Tiki Traps everywhere and the only place to grip onto is the edge of said Tiki Traps.

I get spiked and bounced into one of the lava pits and my dream run is OVER.

$111, 775 and a bucket of tears after expenses paid for the ropes and bombs.

Spelunky's turned into one of my Top Ten games ever and all it ever does is punish me for loving it so. :kanye:

Jay, it got kind of buried, but I was curious if you'd been to the Blackmarket yet? Because that's really the key to making the game super easy (and super DUPER easy if there is a jetpack there).

Further, you need to get out of the "don't anger the shopkeeper" mindset, get to the Blackmarket, and MURDER THEM ALL AND TAKE THEIR STUFF.

Heck, at this point, I murder the shopkeeper anytime there is a freeze gun and other decent items (freeze gun is an easy shopkeeper kill) -- even if it's on 1-2.

I play both games a few times a week at least (or I did at least...going through ASUS customer service hell/PC withdraw waiting for this replacement AC Adapter). Binding of Isaac is so, so good. I hope that when Rebirth comes out a lot of people that don't have it for PC (or don't have a PC to game on) pick it up.

As much as I love the shotgun (and boy do I, especially in Hell), BOTH times I made it to YAMA I killed myself by not paying attention to the damn kick on the thing.

Rebirth on PS4 is gonna be incredible. The art style for rebirth is great too, plus all the additions they're making. It will easily be my pick for Indie game of 2014.

My issue was that I was killing Shopkeepers TOO MUCH.

Every chance I got, I used a shotgun or a freeze ray to get some extra gold and "free items."

What ended up happening (I have 500+ deaths to prove this) more times than not was I would run out of ways to kill the Shopkeepers that would spawn in front of the exit later on.

As for the Black Market, I've been a few times but it's ended with me either dying, leaving with less health than I had or leaving early because I ran out of money to spend on items I needed.

I won't hesitate to go there if I live long enough to get the Eye of Udjat (sp?) to the Jungle and have the bombs to get into the Black Market...

...I just usually can't get the Eye or into the Market most days.

I FINALLY BEAT OLMEC.

$210275 - Best High Score to date.

28:27:712 - NOT a Speed Run but I wasn't going for score or time after I noticed I hit the Temple and got super serious.

Bombs for days.

The son of a bitch damn near had me but I bombed a well for him to fall into and with my trusty Cape and Shotgun, I proceeded to loot the shit out of the room before leaving.

One boss down.

Now to focus on YAMA.

I imagine Spelunky is going to straight gank me the second I enter a level next time I boot the game up. :lol:

Eh. As much as I think Thief is pretty 'meh,' I'm still enjoying it more than I did Dishonored.
