My point was - and continues to be - Cleveland would attract better players if they knew Lebron James was staying.
Because they're not sure, the best Cleveland can do is getting a guy on the backend of his career with an expiring contract.
Because James keeps playing these wait-and-see games, no in his prime free agent will touch Cleveland.
Yet you're continuing to miss the point, David.
Cleveland has shit for money until next year. Next year, LeBron can resign and then they can get these players who will know LeBron will be in Cleveland for the next 5 or 6 years.
If LeBron signs now, you maybe get Trevor Ariza. Oh shit Ariza? Stop the press, TREVOR ARIZA IS IN CLEVELAND!!!
Ariza would give them a good role player, but is he really worth hinging your future on (if your LeBron) when you can still get a player like Shawn Marion, Anthony Parker, or Matt Barnes?
Let's not forget if Ariza wanted to play second fiddle to a legit superstar for the next 6 years he would've stayed in Los Angeles. Where's he at now? Houston where McGrady will be gone in a year and Yao may never play again.
