Ah right, I keep forgetting about show-him. It's weird that he's with them at all, honestly. Who the fuck is in Riverrun?

Blackfish was supposed to remain at Riverrun to run the place during the wedding right? Also, didn't Westerling skip out on the Wedding to avoid drama? I don't remember those details, I just remember feeling really bad for Arya.

Yeah. Blackfish stayed to hold Riverrun. He escapes from Jaime and the Freys in book...5 I think? Or 4. Confuse aspects of them sometimes. And yeah, Westerling stayed behind and I guess people have gleaned from the greater fiction (I can't remember if this is an instance of guessing/over analyzing/both/or is accurate) is that Westerling might be/have been pregnant with Robb's baby, and that her Mom has killed/will kill her babies with that abortion potion. I think she actually recommends she stay behind because some believe she knew about the betrayal? I am only partially not talking out of my ass here.

What a masterpiece of showrunning Martin, Benioff and White did for this season. Phenomenal how they lined everything up and kept all of the stories intact and in motion.

Loved how the Theon storyline paid off with him learning his new name, puts to shame all of the complaints from non-readers about those scenes (they still probably don't realize it, but it does).

Yeah, from a TV perspective this was a good way to bring about the Reek-ification. I don't like how they retcon'd the origin of the name, but I guess all that backstory was lost anyway when Ramsay and the original Reek weren't with Theon in Winterfell previously.

That's where Ned Stark found me.

Still can't get going in book 5, had it for months...I was the same way with book 4 but it REALLY picked up in the last third (or so) of the book, do I just need to keep pushing through book 5?

for me, book 5 started off a better than 4 but eventually slowed its pace. now i'm reading it a lot more since i got about 35% of the way through it (at 55% now). i really don't care for the Daenerys chapters and hope they pick up soon

Wings: I found book 5 to be the lesser book in retrospect. It just drags and drags and drags and drags. Some interesting shit happens, but the best stuff is always over so quickly, and then it's back to sharing Dany's thoughts about Daario or some such nonsense.

I am midway through book 5 again, and I'm reminded of how little I enjoyed it.
