Teams don't even try to run against the Packers. Carolina, Denver, and New Orleans are some of the more sub par running teams. Only Chicago can actually run the ball but for some damn reason chose not to. Some of it contributes to being down but a lot of those games teams still decided to pass early because thats GB biggest weakness right now. Tramon Williams is struggling to come back to form with that injury and Nick Collins is gone. I just see the Lions trying to do the same thing against the Packers. They cant really run all that well, but we all know they can throw the ball. It gives us a chance.

Thats just about the main reason I think the Lions can beat the Packers.

I know I don't have much room to talk, considering how much I've compared Matthews to Woodley, and Woodley hasn't had much of an impact so far this year, but Matthews just isn't having the same impact on pass D as he had last season. I'm just saying...



Which brings me to my teams grade.

Steelers: D-

The o-line isn't a problem anymore, it's a huge fucking liability. It's costing games. Big Ben has taken 14 sacks in 4 games, 7 turnovers he's caused because he's been hit a shitload. Mendenhall is averaging 2.8 ypc and he's not getting good run lanes. Thank God for Mike Wallace or else we would have no offense. Wallace is the only guy fast enough to get open because our o-line can't stop the pass rush from running free.

Defense is definitely showing their age. It's time to juggle the depth chart and let some youth play on the d-line. Troy P is blitzing a lot more than usual, and I don't think it's really needed or effective. We are getting destroyed on run D as well. Oddly enough our pass D is #1 in the league, but with just 7 sacks, and 0 INT's it's just not the same defense as last year. I think teams have discovered Dick's tendencies maybe.

Chargers B+

Best start to a season since 2006, but we've lost to the only playoff caliber team we have played. I want to see us knock over the Jets or Packers (or both) before I get excited

Giants: B-

Consistency and health are the keys. If they could play more consistent ball throughout the games, it wouldn't be so close. They were awful to open up the season in D.C., but they took advantage of a porous Rams team. They simply outplayed Philly on both sides of the ball and came from behind ON THE ROAD when down two scores late in the 4th. All things considered, I think most fans would have pegged them for 3-1 at this point...swapping the WAS and PHI games.

Hopefully they can get healthier and have Osi, Tuck, JPP with Tollefson in the mix, all available. Rookies like Greg Jones, Jaiquan Williams, Henry Hynoski have been good to great at times. The secondary has allowed some big games, but they've come through with big plays (Ross and Rolle).

Philadelphia Eagles

Grade D-

You can sign all the players you want. But if you can't tackle, block, cover, or take care of the football, you're in trouble. It's times like these when teams look to their quarterback to lead them through and meet those high expectations. He has a great opportunity to prove his critics wrong.

Packers: A-

Looking like the best team in the league entering Week 5, but the defense has been mediocre outside of a few big plays. It's a shame we lost Cullen Jenkins, he would have been great this year with Matthews getting double/triple teamed every play.

The offense has been damn near unstoppable at this point, though. Rodgers makes playing quarterback look so easy, it's really been special to watch. The Starks/Grant combo has been great: when one isn't playing too well, the other steps up and has a big game. Cobb has been the playmaking threat we needed and then some. Barring any injuries, I really can't think of a team that can stop this offense right now.

I think A- is the best grade. The defense is not playing up to its potential and for that, I can't justify giving GB the perfect score.

When you have one of the biggest playmakers in football in Charles Woodson, and you have a young stud of a safety in Morgan Burnett covering Megatron....then what do you do?

Woodson and Tramon are arguably better than any other CB Megatron will see all season.

I really can't see the Lions offense keeping up with the Packers offense. Then again, I haven't been impressed the least bit by the Lions so far this season. Completely overrated IMO, still a 9-7ish team, and the third best team in the division, but we'll see.

Are you forgetting Calvin Johnson had two touchdowns vs Woodson in double coverage last year in the first game. The only time Woodson was able to stop him was when he decides to hold him and not get called for it.

2-2 in a pretty average start to the season.

Offense looked good in our two wins, but in our two losses, coincidentally when Martz decided not to run the ball, we looked terrible. Defense has done well when the offense hasn't left them backed up on the wrong side of the 50, which has happened too much this season. It'll be good to have Chris Harris back to sure up that safety position too, these last two games they've really missed him, that combination of Major Wright and Craig Steltz just not cutting it.

I figured we'd be 2-2 when I first looked at the schedule and I've seen a lot of good from the team so far.

But good God, the 2 losses have been maddening. Romo needs to stop this wannabe-Brett-Favre bullshit. He doesn't need to be that guy in order to win games, especially not the way the team looks to be progressing.

Only a game back in the division and Washington and NY are certainly not scary teams. Philly still is, though.
