should've added to others with rookies at QB since Luck is figured to be a can't miss elite prospect. Although you figure teams that invested so much last year won't do it again. If given the opportunity though, it'd be interesting to see how they respond.

considering the hype and demand for this guy, they could get a package of picks to just be too good to turn down.

The Chiefs are definitely a team that could do it. Considering they have a mid tier QB and a GM who loves to accumulate assets from teams that overvalue draft position, wouldn't shock me at all.

Everyone's ready to call Peyton's career over but he still has $84 Million and 4 more years left on his contract.

Does Luck strike you as the kind of QB who needs to ride the pine till he's 26 or whatever? From all the hype you'd think he'd be a fit to play in year one or two, not five.

Peyton Manning's injury is pretty serious. It's a nerve injury in his neck. While I don't see him retiring before his contract, he won't be coming back with another contract unless it's a coaching position. The Colts would be dumb if they didn't take this opportunity to snag Luck if the opportunity arises, even Bill Polian realizes that. The front office is interested in signing Peyton's "heir", they have already said that.

And yes, if Andrew Luck sits behind Peyton Manning, he will benefit from it when he gets his opportunity to start. He would have a much better chance of leading any team to a Superbowl then starting from the beginning of his rookie season.

I think it's premature to write off his career yet. I don't think the Colts would be dumb because for starters there's no guarantee with Luck being a great QB. There's also no guarantee he'll bring the same game that Manning has brought.

Furthermore, the Colts have many needs due to their terrible personnel management over the years. Getting a few players instead of a QB this spring wouldn't be a bad choice at all. If Manning can return to form you still have one of the GOAT's playing for 4 more years. It's not like there isn't going to be another top prospect QB in the next 5 years, I'm sure there will be a few so there's no immediate need to add your "heir" now unless this injury does cut his career short.

I highly doubt the truth of this injury situation is public knowledge, so I'm still waiting to see there.

In the end though, I'd expect the Colts to turn down a multiple high pick trade for the #1 this year if that's the case, because they are that poor at that side of the game and it would be a foolish move considering what their needs are going to be in the very near future.

Not being sensitive... it's just clear that cam Newton is the face of the Panthers, every person here sees that, even the people who doubted him for the past 6 months. He was the number 1 overall pick. Only way the Panthers come close to drafting Luck is if somehow JR decides to fire the entire coaching staff and front office and unload Clausen and Cam, which won't happen after 1 year. Cam is the QB, there is no need for one... at all.

Manning could help Luck... but they are a different style. And Manning hasn't seemed to groom any of the guys sitting behind him so far. Obviously sitting behind Manning can't hurt Luck, but I think he is one of those players that should start week 1 rookie season and get out there, get accustomed to NFL defenses immediately, maybe make a lil noise for his team like Bradford did last year, and then continue a career. I would honestly rather have my QB be 24 with two years of starting experience and having hope for my team, selling tickets and making things exciting then to wait and wonder if my rookie QB is the real deal while he sits for 3-4 years. Then when he starts and is 26 years old and turns out to not be the real deal the franchise is set back those 3-4 years, plus the 2-3 years of letting him start to decide that he was a bust or just an average QB.

The list of winless squads is now down to 5.. and we're guaranteed to have this down to at least 4 after the weekend as winless Minnesota takes on winless Kansas City.

Miami, St. Louis and Indianapolis are also 0-3.. with hapless Seattle, Cincinnati and several others a game out at 1-2.

Colts are the winner in my opinion. Seattle is not that bad a team. They're good for 5-6 wins in that crappy division.
Chiefs not quite as bad as they've shown. Will win 4-5 games.
Colts will be lucky to win two.

If Curtis Painter and those receivers can get on the same page, the Colts may lose the sweepstakes.
Painter look a lot better than I expected tonight. And, the Colts looked like they were playing to win, rather than not to lose, tonight.
Frankly, if I were playing to win, I'd keep playing Painter and see what he can do. Clearly he showed something tonight. It's not his fault the D couldn't stop Blount.
