Yeah games are dropping in value or being taken off the list. I got ~55 for GTA V yesterday, now it will get you $45. You have to check CAG every morning to jump on the deals before a handful of people kill it.

edit: I should have gotten Nascar 14 at Target, when I saw it on clearance for $14 (it's now back to MSRP). I read online that it was buggy, so I decided against it. It will get you $36.

Well, looks like trade-in values at Target went back up. Apparently there was some kind of computer database issue yesterday (probably crashed from all the hoarders/flippers) and when it came back up the values went back up. Madden for XBOne is actually showing a few dollars more ($15.09) than it was before the prices plummeted yesterday. So if you have something to trade, get that shit done ASAP.

I agree. I've been mulling over buying a 64 gig for awhile now, but for $100+ I can't justify it.

IMO if you made the memory cards cheaper say 16GB - $20, 32GB $40, 64GB $60. The system won’t sell any better.

The general public don't even know about the Vita and there is no game they give a shit about on the thing. Why does a casual gamer or young gamer need the device? Is there one reason for them to spend $200 on this?

Is there a reason? Of course. You can't play Borderlands, Uncharted, Sly Cooper, R&C, etc, etc on your phone or 3DS. Do I think changing the price of the memory cards will affect sales a lot? Nope. Casual gamers either don't know it exists or don't know it requires a memory card. I would argue that a large majority of 3DS owners have no idea that thing uses a memory card, especially since it is pre-installed in all the systems in the box. But there are tons of hard core guys like us that just passed on the Vita solely based on the overpriced memory cards.

Couple that with ZERO marketing (I can't remember the last time I saw a Vita commercial).

It's anecdotal evidence, but myself and my friends all own 3DS' for really two reasons: better (and more) games on the 3DS, and when you fill up the card, you can just go this route:

People always seem to say that the 3DS has "more" and better games. Better is obviously an opinion but more is bullshit. I own both and actually have more Vita games than 3DS and the 3DS has been out a year longer. I despise JRPGs and Pokemon so maybe that is the reason, but I think I own pretty much every major (and several minor ones) on both consoles. I have everything from Mario, Zelda, Mario Golf, Luigi's Mansion, Pilotwings, etc. I even have that shitty submarine game. The 3DS (just like with every Nintendo console) has a shit ton more garbage shovelware, no question.

As far as the memory card, I 100% agree. Sony using a proprietary one was fucking stupid and greedy. The standard SD card used in the 3DS is much cheaper and transferring files from one to another is a breeze. I just did it when I upgraded to an XL.

The games aspect is because of two reasons 1) if you can get it on a home console AND the Vita, we'd rather play it on the console; and 2) a lot of the games we would play on the Vita, we already played for the PC.

The 3DS I'd say has a larger body of unique games that you can only play on the 3DS, as opposed to games that can only be played on the Vita (just speaking off of the top of my head). JRPGs or otherwise.

I think a lot of the hardcore jump on the Vita when there are deeply discounted on Black Friday and other times...then later complain about the prices of memory cards. There is a good reason why Sony does not market this thing...cause it wont likely matter and its too expensive to market. I think Sony has accepted where the Vita is market share wise and they know it is a hardcore gamers machine for the most part. At least in the USA.

Similar reason why Nvidia doesn't market the Shield. The people who are going to buy that thing already know about it.

I was able to trade in Madden 25 (XBOne) at Target for $45.27 yesterday. Pretty awesome. They wouldn't take Borderlands 2 because "it wasn't on the list". Oh well.
