Reading your guys' posts it's like Cam Newton has never completed a pass, let alone 65% of them.

That is against shit defenses against MSU he completed under 60% with 2 TDs and also threw an INT. He averaged less than 4YPC and they almost got an L. MSU puts up just a tad better pass D and they get a W. LSU is the number 1 D in the SEC. They are the best against the run and the pass. Cam will not be able to move the ball through the air against LSU. The front 7 will shut him down on the ground.

Mississippi State's Chris Relf is about 6'4 240, and we sacked him like 8 times. Oh and before you say how Mississippi State sucks, they are 5-2 and ranked. They also took Auburn to the brink.

I like Miss St. I think Dan Mullen is a hell of a coach and definitely superior to Les Miles. I was telling KNUBB the other night that they were on the come and he insisted they were still 3 years away.. He also told me that all spread offenses are the same, and Tim Tebow and Cam Newton are the same QB. Even though Newton is bigger and faster than Tebow, maybe without the football IQ but that what Malzahnia is all about! Coaching the kids up!

It's a little different when you inherit LSU's recruits from Nick Saban than when you inherit Mississippi State's recruits from Sylvester Croom.

There are no Saban recruits left on LSU's roster, and Miles has actually recruited better than Saban ever did here.

And Mississippi State has talent. Bumbpis is as good a #1 WR as their is, and their D is ranked 16th right now. LSU dropped 29 points on the same D that Bust Malzahn's "system" scored only 17 against.

I'm not knocking Mississippi State, you'll find I have already given them props in this thread for being 5-2 and ranked. It's a beautiful thing to have 5 teams in the West in the Top 25.

But it's absurd to say Dan Mullen is a better coach than Les Miles.

edit: meh im probably being too strong there, he makes more questionable calls than the 11 other coaches combined but usually the talent of his teams make up for his calls.

Les Miles is an idiot. There is no way around it. I liken his tenure at LSU to Barry Switzer's with the Dallas Cowboys. It defies logic. Miles is so stupid he still lets Gary Crowton run his offense. Gimme a break!

- He "supposedly" tried to fire Gary Crowton this offseason, but the AD put the kibosh on it due to the budgetary crisis that had befallen the university. It would've been bad PR to hire a new assistant coach for $800k when half of the faculty was getting axed, or so the internet legend goes.

Either way, Crowton is gone once the year's over.

Its much easier to recruit when your school has no academic requirements and is the defending national champions. And LSU was much better with Saban's recruits than with Miles' recruits. Miles won his national title with Saban's players. Credit to Miles for doing it, but its not like he's built the program. The last two years Miles' teams have looked nothing like Saban's LSU teams. I thought it was obvious that LSU had slipped in recent years...but I guess not?
