I can see why because a lot of them now have ties to that area. Shane Doan for example has a lot of charity work and his family is all set up there and he isn't happy about the prospect of moving again. That is the one thing people don't take into consideration when talk of relocation happens. There are hundreds of people whose lives are going to go through a major change having to move to not only a different location, but in this case, a different country all together.
I still think Winnipeg is a stupid location, and if the NHL goes through with this, I do think Jim Balsile has a good case he can make that the NHL was blocking him from owning a team, since he wanted to move them to Ontario. And we know Ontario is a bigger hockey market then Winnipeg.
