Dempsey, who scored 23 goals in all competitions last season, has 12 months to run on his Fulham contract and he is keen to move to a bigger club. Brendan Rodgers, the Liverpool manager, appears prepared to let Carroll go and the striker has also attracted the interest of West Ham United and Newcastle United, his former club.
Fulham would have to give Liverpool around £9m on top of Dempsey, but the deal for Rodallega, who has signed a three-year contract, has strengthened their options following the departures of Andy Johnson and Pavel Pogrebnyak.

Us loaning Carroll back to Newcastle would be absolutely hilarious. Especially if they bought him back for something like 10-15 million. We can't loan him back on principle alone because if they did buy him back we'd the biggest laughing stock in soccer. Have some pride LFC. If we have to send Carroll somewhere, send him anywhere but Newcastle.

Chelsea have agreed a £25million deal to sign Brazil international Oscar, according to reports.

The European champions have been chasing the Internacional star for several months, while Tottenham also wanted the 20-year-old.

Chelsea were said to have failed in a previous £20m bid for Oscar, but have now succeeded with an improved offer according to Sky Sports News.

A transfer could now be finalized, despite the playmaker's agent having previously claimed a move to Stamford Bridge was looking increasingly uncertain.

Oscar is expected to arrive in the United Kingdom on Tuesday with the Brazilian Olympic team.

The youngster, capped six times for his country, is regarded as one of the best young talents in Brazil.

After thinking about it more, this signing makes a ton of sense. Really before this only Mata and Hazard were well-suited to the CAM role, and with Hazard playing wide often Oscar will be fantastic to have.

Everton have agreed with Major League Soccer (MLS) that Tim Cahill can be transferred to the New York Red Bulls.

Tim, 32, will move to the Red Bulls for a nominal fee, subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical. He will travel to the US in the next few days.

He has played 278 times for Everton since his move from Millwall in 2004, scoring 68 goals. An Australian international with 55 caps, Tim has scored 24 times for his country.
